Soreness was the first feeling that registered in my mind the next morning as I laid in bed beside Zak. Like I had predicted, once wasn't enough for either of us and we spent the majority of the night between the sheets holding each other's mouths and trying not to wake Bacon.
With a long arm thrown over my waist, I smiled and rubbed at it until Zak woke slowly. "No.. Not yet." He pleaded.
"You have too.."
"Fuck it. I don't care, let Bacon find us.." He grumbled trying to pull the sheet back over us. I swatted it down with my hand and a giggle.
"Zak it's 7am. You have to start getting ready."
"7? Are you sure? It feels like I've just gone to bed though."
I smirked "Because we did... 3 hours ago."
He gave a tired smile "Good night though. Are you okay?"
"Sore but then I've been inactive for a while, my bones and muscles have certainly had their work out."
"You were phenomenal at keeping quiet. Especially when I—"
"Okay. Let's not delve into that otherwise none of us will get dressed today. Come." I beckoned.
"I did.. Multiple times."
This time I snorted at his response and slipped out of bed taking all the covers with me to entice him to get up. But even buck naked and face down, he made no effort to move.
"I'm taking a shower."
His head rose instantly "Shower, yep me too."
I watched as he rolled across the bed and got up, stumbling into me slightly as we both headed for the bathroom.
Unsafe, uncoordinated and clumsy but I was responsible for him this morning so the least I could do was get him to the point of working.
"You okay dawg?" Bacon frowned eyeing Zak as he massaged his temples for the 40th time in the space of an hour.
"I'm fine!" He snapped before sighing "I'm sorry man, I'm tired."
Bacon nodded understandingly before getting up. "Imma go for a cig then we better hit the road."
Zak muttered a response as Bacon left the rental leaving me to make my move.
"Hey? What's up?" I whispered placing my hand on his knee.
"I'm tired, exhausted and now I'm gonna fight against something.. I can't even see!"
"Zak.." I hushed. "Look if you're really that bad, I can ring Mike, get it arranged for another night. Say it's some vomiting bug?"
He mulled over the idea before shaking his head "No, no I can't do that to everyone. I'll go."
