Liam was starting to get irritated with the sight of his office. He had spent so much time in the dark room lately that he was regretting his decision to not have any natural light in the medium sized space.

What made things worse was that the only thing he could think of was Rowen and her hidden past, which fed his irritation.

Liam didn't know if he should be angry or impressed that she had hidden her past so well that not even his team could find out anything about her that wasn't recent. It seemed that Rowen was a lot smarter than he first thought she was.

What got to him the most was Epifanio. The way she had spoken briefly about becoming some sort of breeder, made Liam start to think that maybe none of Epifanio's children were biologically true heirs. Meaning that the Don's estate was open for anyone to come in and take.

Liam rubbed his face; it was hard for him to believe that he had only been away from Rowen for a few hours, considering how badly he wished he could have her with him.

He knew he was falling for her harder than he ever thought possible. It didn't matter that he had never been in love before, he knew what lust was and how that made him feel, and he knew what he felt for Rowen was something so much more than that.

He could sit and talk to her for hours, like he had last night, forgetting at some point that there was information that she wasn't allowed to know yet. As it turned out, he didn't need to worry about keeping things from her, she was already acquainted with the Mafia world, which explained why she was okay with him not telling her everything about himself.

Then there was her secret, he knew that it was a big step for her to trust him enough to tell him everything. She showed him that she trusted him enough to open herself up to him and what had he given her in return?

Nothing.

He kept his truth hidden from her.

As much as he trusted Rowen, he knew that if he told her everything before things crossed a certain point, he would be forcing her back into a world that she wanted to escape. Whether she meant to or not, Rowen had just made things so much harder for their relationship.

Liam was now put in a position he didn't want to be in, either of his choices would hurt her in some way. Bringing her into his world would force her to face the monster from her past; ending things would break her heart as well as his own.

Liam dropped his face into his hands, sighing loudly. Things between Rowen and himself flowed so easily that he knew she belonged to him, just as he belonged to her. Which made his next move so much more important.

His phone lit up in front of him, buzzing across the desk for a second before shutting off. With a tired sigh, he reached for the phone checking the message he just received.

CALL ME! R

Liam instantly called her.

"Liam." The relief in her voice made him sit up.
