“Can you show me that, one more time?” I laughed as I failed at a dance move. “Look, like this..” Ray’s friend demonstrated this seemly easy dance called the “chi-town shuffle.” Yet I couldn’t get it!
Ray had invited some his old buddies over this Friday night. Just video games, hanging out. He practically dragged me from my stories to socialize with them. I’m glad he did though. I attempted the move once more, just a teeny bit better than last time. “See, you’re getting there.” Ray’s friend smiled warmly at me.
“Trey, it’s no use. She’s stiff as a tree.” Ray teased me. He was sitting on the sectional, Eva perched on his lap, her arms looped around his neck. “Let’s not hurt her feelings..” Eva mumbled, thinking I wouldn’t hear.
Yep, that’s right. They are dating. All that flirting Ray did with me? I guess it was bullsh*t, ’cause POOF, Eva and Ray are now an item. It irritates me beyond belief. Eva is a stuck up little monster. She’s extremely rude to me on the sly, Ray never notices. She’s at the condo just about 24/7, making me sick. Even when Ray isn’t home, she shows up. How the hell are they compatible? Ask Jesus, cause I sure as hell don’t know!
Ray nuzzled his head against her neck. “I’m only teasing..” From there they fell into kissy faces and stupid love nothings. I was getting peeved, I don’t deal well with jealousy. And I’m extra mad because Ray sort of led me on. Why flirt with me then? Why?
“Ignore him, he used to make fun of me too.” My attention was brought back to Ray’s friend. “Trey, right?” I asked, just to be sure. I’m bad at names. He nodded yes. “I know.” I agreed with him. “It’s just her.” I shot a steely cold look in Eva’s direction.
“Ah, welcome to the club. No one likes the b****.” He said easily. I raised my brows at him. “Sorry, I mean, it’s just…she’s stuck up and mean to everyone. Thinks she’s better than everyone. Can’t wait till the truth comes out.” I looked at him, confused. Huh? ”C’mon.” He led me outside to the backyard patio.

“She claims to be a singer, but I think she just has a liking for musicians, I swear! She’s a total gold digger; money is her drug and she doesn’t want to go to rehab! She’s been with Diggy Simmons, Jawan Harris, Jacob Latimore— the list goes on.”
My eyes widened with surprise, but then again, I wasn’t too surprised. But still.
“She’s using Ray for money? Ray isn’t even known yet, he’s barley noticed for the pieces he writes. He’s not ballin’ that hard.” I was shocked when I found he had written for Justin Bieber, for instance.
“Well rumor has it that she’s trying to trap him.” Trey whispered, like it’s something he shouldn’t know, but found out by snooping around. “A baby? She wants a baby by him?” I asked, almost heated. He nodded his head solemnly.
I walked forward and leaned on the patio banister. I looked out into the backyard and beyond. “Well, we gotta tell him. Doesn’t he know about her reputation? I mean, you know about her.” I said finally. He shoke his head, almost laughing.
“Rayson is gullible, I would know. Girls have been duping him all his life. He’ll do anything for a pretty face. Flirts with anyone and anything, first jump he gets.” ”What?” he asked, I guess he noticed the hurt look on my face.So I’m anyone and anything?
“Ray’s been flirting with me ever since I set foot on this place. Even took me out for laser tag and ice cream once.” I said, dryly. “Well..” He trailed off; he wasn’t trying to hurt my feelings. I took the chance to take good look at him.
Even caramel colored skin. Plump, juicy looking lips. Curly jet black hair, smoothed back into a voluminous puff ball. Plus he had the goofiest smile I ever seen. I can’t lie, he’s handsome.
