“You sure you don’t wanna come? I hear Bayside is like the best place to visit around here.” Jacob asked one more.

“Nah, I think I’ll stay, I feel tired.” I lied, stretching on the couch. Jacob said no more, and moments later, I heard the door slam behind him. Yep, I’m a liar— I’m really not tired, I just wanted to be alone. It’s Thursday, finally. That means we leave tomorrow, since we got here last Friday. This whole week has been a whirlwind of partying, sight seeing, and more. I mean, Miami is fun, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I’m kinda nostalgic for home. Hence the reason why I decided to back out of today’s activites.

But I certainly don’t wanna be couped up in this hotel room all day either.

I threw on some clothes, and while I crossed the hotel lobby, I thinking of what I could possibly do. The others had the rental car, so that meant I was on foot for today. I don’t mind, I need the excersise anyways. Hmm, I was eyeing this little icecream shop. I think I remember enough to get there on foot, and get back to the hotel……

Shai

This week has me dead. Samara had us going EVERYWHERE you could imagine. Jesus, I think I’m sick of the place already. We did wedding shopping, pampering, sight seeing, partying at night— I’m ready to chill! Thank God it’s Thursday, we leave tomorrow. So while they went out wine tasting today, I grabbed my notebook and set out on foot, you know, since they have the car.

Oh yes, my notebook? Yeah, that’s right, I still write! I’m just inspired, I just wanna find somewhere nice and quiet, and just write until my hands give out.

Walking, I got distracted by own thoughts, as normal, and I bumped into a complete stranger! Oh Lord, let it not be one of those creeper guys. Then again, it’s broad daylight, I can scream if I need to.

“I’m sorry..” I heard his voice say. I noticed that I had knocked his phone to the ground, how clumsy of myself.

I bent down to pick it up, standing back up slowly. This phone case looked so familiar. Oh wait, that’s right, this is Ray’s phone case. What a coincidence.

“Shai?” The stranger asked. Pause. How does he know my name. I looked back up to his face immediately. Well I’ll be damned— guess who it is?

“Ray?” I asked cocking my head to side. I blinked a few, just to make sure. Nope, it’s him, in the flesh. S.exy flesh to say the least, his skin was gleaming in the sunlight, he looked so radiant— but back to the subject at hand! WHY is he HERE?

“What’re you doing here?” I asked shakily, handing him his phone. He inspected it for scratches. “I should ask you the same.” He retorted, half smiling. How long has it been since I’ve witnessed that smile? I snapped out of lala land, changing my stance.

“I’m here with the ladies, bachelorette week?” I said matter a factly. He copied my exact everything— voice, stance. “I’m here with the guys, bachelor week?”

“So then Jaocb and Mara chose the same place?” I pondered aloud. “Without knowing it.” Ray finished my thought. Okay, now this is awkward.

“Well, I guess I’ll just go this way now.” I said awkwardly, turning on my heel. You know that show on youtube called Awkward Black Girls? Well I feel like ‘J’ right about now. He yanked me arm back, like I expected he would. Damnit.

“Wait, want some icecream?” He asked hesitantly.

“What?” What a random a.ss question.

He pointed up at the sign above us, it was indeed an icecream shop. What do ya know? I was still unsure.
