Kyoko's POV~

The fact that I couldn't sense them unless I had used Shourai disturbed me. Ren hadn't sensed them either and that could only mean one thing. They were trained ninjas.

Goddamn.... No wonder Orochimaru sent this Ren guy as back-up. He shoud've warned me that this mission would've been difficult.

But what kind of damn ninjas are these guys? Either jonin or anbu. I'm betting the second choice.

What village did he hire them from?

It could be from any village. I couldn't catch a glimpse of their headband or who they really were.

Soft muffling noises interrupted my thoughts and I looked to see that I was still holding Ren and covering his mouth. I immediately let go and wiped my hand on his shirt.

"Did you sense them?" he asked me.

"Not at all. Could it be possible that they are trained ninjas?"

Ren facepalmed. "Ugh.... I am paired with the world's biggest idiot! No shit, sherlock."

I clenched my fists at him as an anime vein appeared on my forehead. I want to punch this guy!

"Anyway, putting your idiotic thoughts aside, we should proceed before we are found here," Ren suggested and started to walk away.

I immediately let go of my small grudge and followed behind him.

Ren's POV~

This isn't good.... Is they are trained, then how will we fight them off if we get into a conflict with them as we are stealing the scroll? Kyoko won't be any help. She already appears useless.....

But I can't let her die. Orochimaru will have my head severed and put on a platter. Wait, nah.... He won't do that... He'll probably use me as a test subject again since I have that special ability.

Hm... Thinking about him makes me wonder.... Why did Kyoko go to Lord Orochimaru? Gah. It must be the same reason why that idiot Sasuke joined.

Psh.... Idiots... They are all idiots....

I was lost into a trail of deep thought for a long time, I suppose, since it somewhat startled me when Kyoko grabbed me again and pulled me into another hallway.

What the hell is she doing?!

As it had happened the first time, a guard passed by where we should've been a few seconds later.

     How does she know?

I turned to look at her and her eyes were a different color than before. Blue with a star in the middle of them.

Her eyes.... Can they detect chakra or something?

Reminds me of the sharigan from when Orochimaru made me spare with Sasuke... Ugh....

She let go of me and grabbed my hand to guide me through the castle. I almost wanted to slap her hand away since she is usually the one who gets us lost.

She doesn't even know her way around this castle! I'm the one who studied the architectural stucture around here! Why is she leading? We'll get lost in this place!

Kyoko's POV~

Ren had seemed to be in a long trail of thought since he was just walking forward with a blank look on his face and didn't respond to my calls to him.

I still had Shourai activated just in case anymore random guards appeared in sight. I had an urge to use Level 2, but I didn't want to waste my chakra.

Does Ren even know where we are going? He just keeps walking...

"Hey, Ren.....?" I attempted to get his attention.

No response was received from him and that did tick me off.

I grabbed him and dragged him into another hallway to avoid another guard and I noticed that Ren was somewhat surprised by what I did. I sighed. That idiot was daydreaming....

He looked at  face and his eyes widened just a tiny bit before he resumed his blank expression.

It seems I have no choice... I activated Level 2 and grabbed his hand and began guiding us through the path that would lead us to the room where the scroll was.

I could tell that Ren was completely thrown off by what I was doing by the atmosphere behind me. It contained confusion and a bit of fustration.

He pulled me back and I stopped walking. "What are you doing, Kyoko?" he whispered with gritted teeth.

I didn't bother turning around to talk to him. "I'm bringing us to the room where the scroll is."

That seemed to set him off. "You idiot! You don't know your way around here! You'll get us lost with your sense of direction. Anyway, you never bothered to study this castle before we came in here."

Now that made me mad. I turned around and grabbed the collar  of his shirt even though he was a bit taller than me. "Shut up, Ren," I hissed. "Cut the crap right now and just follow me. I know what I'm doing."

I had satisfaction when he looked shocked at my different eye color.

Ren's POV~

When she grabbed the collar of my shirt, I didn't think much of it, but when I looked at her straight in the eyes, it shocked me. They were purple now.

How many eye colors does she have?

Is this a different kenkei genkei?

She turned back around and continued to lead us through the castle. Wait.... There is no way to sense the guards as they walk through the castle and she never did study the castle map that I received from Orochimaru. Does she see the future or something?

I decided to ignore the questions and just piece everything together by watching her.

For about half an hour, we continued to walk through the castle and hiding from guards until we stood in front of a room with a huge amount of locks around it. Kyoko just walked up to it and used her swords to cut through the security systems.

Gosh.... Now she's really going to make it look like somebody broke into here.

"Brace yourself for a fight soon," she said to me and opened the door to the room. I stepped inside after her and almost gasped at the sight. The room was filled so many scrolls that it was almost overwhelming.

Dang.... How will we find the scroll now?

Kyoko walked straight up to a shelf of scrolls and removed one of them. "This is it," she said confidently and handed it over to me.

"What? How do you know? You haven't even opened it!"

She glared at me and instantly silenced me. "Shut up and listen to me."

Her aura felt so overwhelming. I got down on one knee and placed a hand over my heart. "Yes.... Kyoko-sama."

Her glared turned even more deadly. "Get back up. We're getting out of here before they arrive."

     I got back up. "Who?"

The door widened and in came about fifty ninjas with masks on their face. "Who are you and why are you here?" the one in the front asked.

     Ah, crap....

Kyoko slapped her forehead pretty hard and sighed, "Idiot...." she mumbled.
