Hope of No Return (Sequel to Ugh... These Stupid Geeks-I mean Ninja)

Chapter 6- A fight? I'm up for that

Ren's POV~

   I stood in front of Kyoko defensively and drew out my kunai. "Okay... I'll distract them and you go jump out of the damn window and run."

   "I shall repeat... Who are you?" the ninja, whom I assumed was in charge, demanded. His mask was an owl, unlike the others. The rest had foxes. 

   "Kyoko-sama... Run."

   Kyoko cleared her throat and said in a really loud and confident voice. "I'm here to take this damn scroll back to my master. Any issues?"

   I slapped my forehead and groaned. Great way to seal our dooms! Now if she tried to escape from the window, they'll all follow her instead of coming after me. 

   I could hear the sound of a blade behind me and some small movements before Kyoko stepped beside me. Her eyes had turned back to blue... the color it was before it turned into that wacky purple. 

Kyoko's POV~

   I tucked away the scroll and withdrew my blade. I had already seen into the future. It was either that I run adn I get killed or we fight and survive.

   Might be a bit messy, but the second option clearly seems better. 

   The ninjas whom had acted as security guards withdrew their weapons and each took their own fighting stance. I prepared myself, but then Ren stuck a hand out in front of me. 

   "I'll take care of them," he said.

   The one in front lead the charge for all of them. Ren had took out a kunai and deflected all the attacks coming at him or me. There were a few close calls, but the ninjas who were hired by the lord of this castle were no match for Ren's skill and reflexes. 

   Even though Ren seemed skilled, however, we were slowly being pushed back into a corner. I had a really strong urge to help him in the fight since it would make this job a lot easier and faster, but Ren is just too arrogant and ignorant to let me!

   "Lord Orochimaru would kill me if you were to be injured," he had said when I tried to deflect an incoming attack but he had shoved me out of the way and deflected it himself. 

   Asshole! I mentally cursed at him. 

   It wasn't long until we were in a corner. Ren had only killed or knocked out about 10 of them. 

   "We have you surrounded with no way out. Give up," the leader said. It sounded like he had a very smug look on his face. 

Ren's POV~

   What the leader said made me grit my teeth in anger. Without thinking, I had gripped my kunai knife harder and charged at him. I had forgotten that I was guarding Kyoko and that there were other guards. 

   My foolishness and recklessness had costed me a great amount. 

Kyoko's POV~

   Ren had directly charged at the leader. I gasped a little when he did so. It was a really reckless action that could get him killed. 

   No sooner had Ren swung at the leader a few times, there were swords and a few kunais sticking out of his back. 

   "REN!" 

   He staggered a bit as the leader of the group laughed loudly. "You aren't as tough as you thought!"

   Ren coughed out blood and just stood there for a bit more without saying anything before collapsing on the floor. A pool of blood slowly formed around him from his wounds.
