Keegan's POV:

"Is she gonna be alright?" Merrick asked again.

The lady at the desk knew it was him again and didn't look up from her typing. "Doctors haven't said."

Sighing, Merrick dragged his arm off the counter and then walked back to sit next to a praying me. He put his hand on my tense shoulder and squeezed it-trying to comfort me.

"She'll be okay, Keegan."

"Whatever," I replied. "Fuck. What am I kidding? She may die. Then what will I do?"

"Keegan," Hesh sat down next to me, "calm down. Hailey is strong-stronger than all of us. She will survive this."

"And what if she doesn't?" I snapped. "What will we do then? The whole thing of her helping us defeat Rorke will be over!"

"Sir," Merrick turned from our argument to at the lady sitting at the desk. "The doctor says Hailey can be visited."

As we all got up, we started smiling and shoving each other to get to the door first.

"But," the lady made us stop, "only one of you can see her. The doctor says the person who she is the closest with."

All eyes turned to me. Trying not to gulp, I shoved open the double doors to go in the back to the emergency rooms. Excitement, fear, happiness, and sadness seeped through me making nausea spread through my body. I ignored it.

I was going to see Hailey for the first time in what seemed like forever and things couldn't be better.

Hailey's POV:

"Hailey?" a voice made me turn my head in the darkness surrounding me.

"Who is it?" I replied, turning wildly around.

"Don't fight. Come with us," I followed a bright light flickering at the left of me.

Taking a step forwards, I started to follow the light. When I reached the edge of what seemed like a tunnel, I gasped when I saw what came to view. A war. But not just any war.....a war with the Federation.

"Watch," said the same voice.

I watched as I was put into my own vision.

"Go Hailey!" a voice who was in pain yelled. I couldn't make out who it was.

"Run!" another voice said.

"Not without you!" I heard myself crying.

"Like I really matter," the first voice replied.

"Go," the second voice commanded.

Getting up, I felt myself starting to run, blindly. Before I started to leave my vision, the second voice said:

"You really are one of us Hailey," there was a pause. "Now go finish this."

~~~
"Hailey?" someone was near my bed.
The heart monitor on my right beeped with my heartbeat. Opening my eyes, I was, at first, blinded by the light. Blinking two more times, I turned my head to see Keegan staring at me worriedly. Amusement sparked inside me when I saw how childish he looked.
"Keegan," I dipped my head.
Sighing with relief, Keegan awkwardly wrapped his arm around me, being careful of my left shoulder, and hugged me. "Thank goodness you're alive!"
"What happened?" I felt annoyed from his hugging and drama. "I feel like shit."
"You don't remember?" I shook my head and Keegan sighed again. "You got shot in your shoulder, but the bullet actually exploded inside you and peices of the bullet got stuck into your heart. Somehow you managed to fight the wolf and pass out while I tried to do something for you. Remember now?"
Shaking my head, I widened my gaze. "Rorke. He'll come after me! Why did you bring me here?"
"Because you needed help and you're one of us," Keegan tilted his head, confused. "Why wouldn't we?"
Sitting up, I ripped the tubes attached to my arm and heart. Getting up on the opposite side from Keegan, I started for the bathroom. "No!"
Changing with the door open, I put on a dark blue cotton t-shirt with black skinny jeans. I slipped on my black-laced boots. Keegan was frozen to his spot when he saw me changing, but I didn't care. I needed to get out of here. Coming out of the bathroom, I walked past Keegan towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Keegan asked, stepping in front of me.
"Back to Rorke. I can't be here," I narrowed my eyes feeling almost completely better.
"But you're one of us. You don't belong with Rorke."
"Let's get this straight," I jammed my finger into Keegan's ribs and he winced. "I will never be one of you! Never again!"
Keegan and I met eyes, and when we did he flinched back away from the door. "Can you please stay for dinner?"
Turning from my spot in the doorway, I gazed at him darkly. Now would be a good chance to gather enemy Intel. I thought evilly. "Fine. But you are to escort me back to my home as soon as one of us finishes our last bite of food."
It seemed as if Keegan perked up. He walked past me and led me out into the Sick Bay waiting room. Merrick, Hesh, and Logan stood up happily when they saw us. I was squeezed out of breath by their hugs and I didn't hug back. I needed to keep my distance anyways.
"It's good to have you back!" Hesh said. I was walking in between him and Logan.
"Yeah," I muttered. "It's good to be back."
"I can't believe she's actually returned," Merrick's voice behind us caught my attention.
Keegan spoke in a low voice and I couldn't hear. Merrick's hazel eyes were suddenly burning into the back of my head and I tried to not shiver. What had Keegan told him that made Merrick so watchful of me?
