"Logan!" Keegan yelled over the war zone. "Get Hailey the hell out of here!"

Before I could object, Logan yanked me back inside double steel doors. I fell on my butt when Logan let go of me and shut the doors. Turning back around, Logan lifted me up and then walked me around the corner so that we were really safe. I could only think of leaving Keegan and Hesh out there alone.

"They'll be fine, Hails," Logan murmured, still holding my shoulders. "Focus on your part of the mission."

Meeting Logan's icy blue eyes, I felt a chill go down my spine. His eyes were so....scary in a way. I always shivered or shuddered under their presence and I didn't know why.

"Then let's get to the control panels," I whispered and Logan released me.

"That's the Hailey I know."

As I started jogging to the stairs, I felt Logan's presence right on my heels. Keegan and Hesh were going to be okay. They would- they had to- meet us at the control room.

"I need the drive," I commanded as I ripped off the panel to the wires.

The plan had been to hack into the Federation's control of weapons and database. If we got control of their weapons, we could attack with our own plus theirs, which would give us a bigger advantage. Hesh thought that hacking the database might give us a good idea of what Rorke was planning. It made sense, but what if Rorke was smarter than that? What if he was expecting all of what we were doing right now?

"Red connects with green, blue connects with orange, purple connects with black," Logan said quickly to me while I connected the wires.

Standing up, I typed a few things into the high-tech system. The keyboard was built into the desk while I could move things around at the same time. Enlarging the file that had the name .weaponry.jpg.kill.targets. The kill targets made me pause. Shrugging, I continued sorting the files with my black-gloved hands.

"Hailey," Logan tapped my shoulder and I looked to where his finger was pointing. "What file is that?"

Narrowing my eyes at the file "Operation H" I clicked on it. Instead of opening up on the desk, the file opened up on the wall in front of us.

"Is this thing on?" a whisper sounded and the camera shook and then came upon a face.

Gasping, I froze in my spot at the person's voice.

"Logan, Ha-"

Keegan and Hesh ran in, but stopped talking at the sight of the video.

"My name is Katie," my mother said frantically, as if fearful of something around her. "When the attack happened, I was taken from my home. My daughter, Hailey, is still alive somewhere. I know that the Ghosts have taken her in and that she's safe. I'm telling you this so that you know Rorke's plans."

I opened my mouth slightly so that I could breath easier. My heart was stopping at the sight of my mother.

"Listen, Hailey, if you're watching this," my mother paused. "Rorke has everything planned. He knows what you're going to do and when you're going to do it. There is only one way to throw him off- hacking control centers won't work. I've heard Rorke talking to his closest Federation men. There's some sort of....plan that they have put together. The war you think is going to happen isn't. I've heard small words of nuclear bombs and some sort of giant signal. There's something more to this, but I don't have time to find out more.
