Chapter Eight

I can't really see straight but yet, I know exactly where I'm going. As I round the next corner I am at a dead end. Well not really a dead end but nobody really pays attention around here. I walk forward and grab at the curtain that garnishes the empty hall. As I pull it back there's a door. I clutch the old, rusty handle and turn. There's a puff of dust, almost as if when this door is shut the room is required to hold its breathe until somebody will open the door.

I walk inside the dimly lit room and sit down in the old rocker that I love. As I plop down I feel as if a ton of bricks have been lifted off my shoulders. Just as I was getting comfortable, something catches my eyes. I see something shimmer if only slightly. I progress toward it and as I grow nearer, I realize that I was seeing an old trunk.

I lean over attempt to pop it open but it won't budge. I search around the room the could be used as a key. It would be pretty old and probably rusty. I search for it for about 10 minutes until feel deflated and I sit down hard on the blankets on the old rocker. I yelp in pain as I jump from my seat. I've sat in this chair a million times and have never hurt myself.

I slowly lift the blankets up and I see something. I grab around until my hand hits something hard. I grab it and pull it out. Its a key. It's large, old, and rusty. I suddenly feel so excited. I rush over to the old trunk and place the key in the lock. It seems to fit nicely. I turn it ever so slowly, afraid of what could be inside.

When the key is turned all the way, the trunk lid flies open unexpectedly. I jump back, extremely startled. I look inside expecting to see something crazy, unexpected, or magical inside. I peer inside and what I see inside is something I can barely manage to look at.

A/N Hey you guys! I am so sorry about the long wait. I couldn't get into my wattpad acount on my computer or my phone. I was sad that I didn't have anywhere to write down the ideas that just kept coming to me. I'm really excited about this story and I hope you are too! Next update: Friday the 30th.
