the trio sat on the bed, silently.

"coming here was reckless." pastor commented.

"hey, i demand some respect! how do you think we will live here for such long time if you keep that attitude? and besides, you should be grateful. at least i came here to see if you were alive or not. no one would ever do that and-"

"and hide in a closet?" pastor responded.

"well... yes. there are creepy insects in there!"

"those must be grade 4 gears you are talking about."

the statement followed some moments of silence.

"wait,  I thought you said all appliances shut off. then how come is Mary still functioning?"

"no one shuts me off." Mary was rude enough to make a kid cry. surrexia shook her head.

pastor rolled his eyes. "i have no idea why she is." he murmured.

this was followed by some more moments of silence.

"so, what do we do now?" pastor sighed. he was really getting tired and frustrated out of sitting idle.

"we devise strategies." surrexia replied.

 "strategy?" pastor repeated.

"yes, strategy," bubalis confirmed as he, in the meanwhile, addressed the staff of  T.M.D. " earth has invaded szezkaban. this statement is not to be underrated. but we can't - we won't - just sit and watch as those beasts devour our planet, our home. we shall fight. we shall put every single bit of effort till the last moment, and even then, if we fail, we all shall die with pride, with glory, with satisfaction that we tried our very best and did not give up."

"and how in the world are we going to convey our 'strategy' to the world? this is foolish." mary commented.

"no, she is right. we will devise strategies. forget the past. screw the future. right now this is the only thing we can do." pastor strongly supported the idea of devising strategies. for the first time. for the first time he agreed with this girl.

"offensive or defensive?" surrexia questioned.

pastor facepalmed. this girl... well, she tried to use her brain, atleast. it was a foolish question to ask.

"naturally, defensive."

"offensive." pecoris meanwhile proposed so at the meeting.

"offensive?" the staff stared with curiosity at the ex-universal genius, as he stood up and addressed them.

"as we all know," pecoris began, " we are far more advanced than humans. we can move faster to target locations, attack faster, defend better. still, i know, posing a full fledged attack might prove dangerous, as we do not know, until now, how and what defense mechanism they have. but when they come to our domain, are we not in a position to entirely destroy their fleet? if we put our heads together, will it not be sufficient to create a weapon that could neutralise their entire fleet?"

at the regretto residence the discussion had taken a different turn.

"yeah. defensive." pastor repeated. "as we know, we cannot, by any means, pose a threat to their fleet with puny attacks. we also dont know what a wide range of war equipment or defense they have.in this sense, we only have superficial knowledge of their capabilities. so, instead of initiating an attack, we shall protect ourselves from the ones that come at us. offence was never an option. defending is our only choice."

cries and cheers were heard from both the parties as they set to work.
