"So, basically, homo sapiens are far too inferior to us in technology." Pastor assessed.

For the past three hours he had been discussing about Earth with Mary. Needless to say, he had learnt much about the planet.

So far he had discussed about the gravitational pull, which was almost same - the mass and radius of Szezkaban and Earth being almost equal. Szezkaban having slightly more mass, the acceleration due to gravity here being 9.82 m/s, and that of Earth being 9.78 m/s.

Another fact he had learnt was that earth had only one natural satellite, the "MOON", but many artificial ones - yes, humans were interested in universe, too. Szezkaban had seven natural satellites, and plenty artificial ones.

Another amazing thing he had learnt from the discussion was about the invention of  Time Space Warp - a primitive form of the one invented in Szezkaban. Space warp was a device that had the ability to join two different points in space, reducing the distance significantly. Like, earth was almost 999 light years away from Szezkaban. but using slipstream tech. of Szezkaban, one could reach there in one minute or even less. using the model on earth, invented 2 decades ago,i.e., year 2423 according to earth standard time,  it would take 10 to 15 minutes(estimated by pastor).

Currently, the topic of discussion was the technology of earth.

"Yes, but had they focused their heads more on sectors like education and peacekeeping, Earth would've been in a better condition than now. I would like to say it would've been superior to us." Mary corrected.

"Maybe they could learn a thing or two from us..." Pastor murmured.

" Maybe. But just to remind you, few blows from Earth and Szezkaban would be dirt. Those savage beasts have the power to-"

"Don't call them that!" Pastor snapped. The one statement made by Prof. Hardy still rang in his brain. All humans were not savage. There were good ones.  'How Many' was not a matter of concern, what mattered was that they existed.

"Daddy's home, Pastor!"  a cheery voice called out.

Pastor chuckled.

Now that's rare, thought Mary. Pastor seldom chuckled. All he ever did to express happiness was to produce a wide, childish grin. A lame but famous joke on him was that he was born grinning instead of crying, and they had decided to name him grinny. But, after putting some thought into it, they had come to the conclusion that grinny was such a lame name( no offence to someone who HAS this lame name), and decided to name him Pastor.

His dad never called out to him like this. Until it was something very important. and interesting. Pastor knew the fact. OR  there could be two other options. either he was about to get appreciated, or scolded badly. the former was more ideal, as the latter literally stood no chance. But given the circumstances, there was no reason whatsoever for which he should get appreciated. That only meant his father would discuss something with him.

"Dinner's ready, Pastor!" informed the calm yet shrill voice of his mother.

"Comin' mom! comin' dad!" Pastor rushed out of the room.  He was hungry, sure, but more he wanted to know what his dad had to say. "later, Mary!"

With Pastor gone, Mary was left alone to ponder over some of the facts about Earth that Pastor was yet unaware of.

"And you know what, " continued Pecoris, "We also received a photon signal!"

"Really?!" Pastor was amazed. What coincidence!

" Yeah! but, since it was from a planet with inferior technology, the format of the  signal was not supported by our device. We tried, but couldn't make a device to translate the message."

Both Pecoris and Pastor sat on opposite ends of the dining table while Pecoris dictated all that had happened today at the T. M. D. ( tech and monitoring department) as Pastor listened with great interest.

"Now, now, the food's getting cold!"  Pano complained as she took a place beside her husband.

"Yes, cutie!" Pecoris dived into the food. Pano's face went red from the statement as Pastor was nearly choked in an attempt to laugh.

To be honest, Pano WAS cute. The blue iris went in perfect co-ordination with brown hair and white complexion. In the first few days of their marriage, Pecoris remembered, Pano was even prettier. but it was all the same even now. Pano was his life...

From life his thoughts wandered over to death, from death to disaster, disaster to violence, and violence to- Earth.  He stopped eating. He clenched his fist hard and gritted his teeth.

"No matter what happens," He whispered to himself,  " They mustn't know of our existence."

"Why, pa?" Pastor dragged him out of his thoughts. " Our Prof. has taught us that all humans are not the way we stereotype them. Many of them are like you and me."

Pecoris smiled, "Yes! Maybe you can contact them by inventing a device that could catch the photon signal as well as transmit them?"

Pastor's eyes lit up at this. " I'll eat in my room" He  announced, getting up.

Pano sighed.

"And I'll be staying up late tonight," he declared, getting to the escalation pad that led to his room.

" And I 'll bunk school tomorrow!"

Pano's jaw dropped open. There was no doubt whatsoever about the intentions of her child. She glanced at Pecoris. Strangely enough, he was way too... Normal. How?

"Aren't you worried?" She finally took the courage to ask.

"Worried? For what?"

She didn't expect such a dumb reply from her genius husband. Still, she thought she ought to explain WHY he should be worried.

"Why, Pastor actually might invent that photon whatever device!"

"So?" Pecoris smiled.

She sighed. "Sometimes I  don't get you mega brainz."

"Aw, come on," Pecoris rolled his eyes, " You think he can achieve in one night what the whole tech dept. of Szezkaban failed to in a whole day's time?" he assured.

"Yes, I do." was the reply from his wife.
