SLIGHT PDA ALERT!

His lips were against hers. His lips. Were against hers.

It took a moment for Sophie's brain to start working again. Her eyes fluttered shut. Out of instinct, she kissed him back, melting at his touch. It'd been a long time since they'd kissed.

Keefe's arms wrapped around her waist, drawing her closer to him than before. His hands tangled through her hair.

Her hands automatically lassoed his neck, and she leaned into his lips.

They were warm, and sweet. He tasted too good. She wanted him back, badly. So badly.

Keefe pressed his forehead against hers, smiling against the both of their lips. It was just enough to snap Sophie out of the strange trance she was in—the sensation she never wanted to stop, against what all of her brain was screaming at her loud and clear.

PDA ALERT OVER!

Then she came to her senses, her lungs burning as she pulled away from him, stumbling back. Breathless, she let silence envelop them. Her cheeks flushed.

The only other sound was the heavy breathing of the two of them.

"Sophie," Keefe finally said. "I—"

"I can't," she said, pleading with him. "I can't do this, Keefe." Her stomach was flipping over, nerves getting to her as she reached up to touch her lips. The tingled softly, warm from where Keefe's lips had embraced them wholly.

"Don't yell at me ever again," Keefe proclaimed, ignoring her completely. "You're being angry is such a complete turn-on."

Sophie's jaw dropped. She inhaled sharply, noticing that his face was only about an inch from hers. When had he learned how to talk like...that? Must've been the six years she'd been gone and he'd been here. She didn't like it.

He reached up gently, closing her mouth with amusement written all over his face. Keefe leaned down, his lips softly brushing across her jawline. It was obvious that he'd had experience with these types of things.

"Stop!" Sophie pushed him away, her hand reaching to where his lips had very previously been again. "You can't just do this, Keefe."

"I love you," he said simply instead.

Her eyes shut. She couldn't do this. Not again. Not again. Not again.

He took her hand, holding it up. "This just shows that you love me too."

"I-I," Sophie was left speechless. All of her wanted him, but she couldn't do this again.

He was a player. He'd stopped it for the fleeting time that they were dating, but still. She wasn't about to trust him. He might leave her again. She might never find him the next time. The future scared Sophie, and she wasn't going to hide it.

"Not again," she said firmly. "You need to stop......messing with my mind, Keefe." Her gaze went to the floor. "I've been trying to get over you for six years. You can't just storm back into my life and do this to me." She was sure she was tomato by now.

"What am I doing wrong?" Keefe asked. "It's not my fault that I have such an effect on you."

"When did you become this cruel?" She recoiled, pulling her hand from his warm one.

His face transformed into a mask. "I was never the cruel one here, Sophie." Sure.

She rolled her eyes. "Sure, let's go with that, shall we? I'll even pretend to believe it. Now if you'd excuse me, I'd like to find Maya."

"What makes you think that you can just walk away like that?" His challenge to her was met with pure defiance.

"Well, you know what I did in the cafeteria yesterday?"

Keefe swallowed. "Yeah?"

"Well," she said with a grin, "I happen to be wearing boots today. Yesterday I was wearing sneakers." He was going to move, or regret it. She could just inflict on him, but...this was more fun.

"Oh."

"Yeah." Sophie smiled. "I'd love to try them out. Would you like to be my first test subject?"

He moved to the side, watching as she left.

But really, the only thought on Sophie's mind as she was leaving was how she was going to explain this all to Maya. She reached up to touch her lips again, and they tingled once again.

Author's Note-

Yes, I felt guilty. Maybe a bit too guilty. I hate cliffys myself, so I thought I might put all of you out of your misery. (No, I'm not planning to come and murder all of you, don't worry.) I have gotten at least 5 votes on last chapter too, so I figured I might as well put this up now.

Do you guys think that I should put up the book I was talking about the other day after this? It would be about Sophie's getting over Keefe, while writing letters to the nonexistent him, or so she thought. She writes to him every once in a while, maybe every month or so about how she's faring and what's going on in her mind.

Thank you all for supporting me!

Love,

Owl~ XOXO
