Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
I slammed my hand on the alarm clock. I started to mumble foul language as I got up to get ready. I am not a morning person and my parents definitely know this. As for my grandparents well, they are about to find out. I sloppily put my hair in a bun and went down stairs to get breakfast.
"Good morning Clara!" My grandpa said as he set down a plate of waffles. I groaned and nodded my head to acknowledge him.
"Somebody is not a morning person." My grandma said as she rested her hands on my shoulders from behind.
Just as I was going to reply to my grandma, my dad beat me to it "No she really isn't."
"What are we talking about?" My mom asked as she saw us all in the kitchen.
"How I got to get to work." I said and darted out the door. That's a conversation I really don't want to argue about. Especially if it's 3 against 1.
I pushed through the buildings doors and once I go into the building, I received dirty looks from everyone. Are people really that rude? I sighed as I went inside the elevator and clicked the button to go to my office. It feels really good to say that. My office. I smiled at the thought of it. I reached my floor and stepped out of the elevator. I went straight to my office and found a small yellow paper tapped on my desk. I unfolded the paper and started to read it. I groaned as I slammed it on my desk. Work.
- 3 hours later-
I knocked on Dominic's door. I waited a couple more minutes before knocking again. No reply. He told me specifically on the note to go to him once I was done with all the paper work and trust me, there was a lot.
I hesitated for a second before twisting the door knob and going inside his office. I knew that he was in there because I heard faint talking. When I went in his office I noticed that Dominic was on the phone. He seemed like he was frustrated because he was yelling at the person at the end of the phone line. Once he noticed me come in, he spoke a bit more calmly but I could still hear the annoyance in his voice.
"Look I'll call you back. Bye." He said as he hung up the phone.
"Next time would you please knock?"
"I did but you were to busy yelling that you didn't hear me."
"If there is no answer then don't come in. It's as simple as that."
"Are we really going to go back to the very beginning with us arguing? Arguing doesn't solve anything but create conflict." I exclaimed and sat down in one of the chairs.
He sighed as he sat down in his chair across from me. "I'm guessing that your here because your done all the work that I gave you. Am I correct?"
"Yea I'm done." I replied looking up at he ceiling.
"I'm having a bad day and since your done work then you could go home." he said as he pointed to the door. Without another word he went back to his computer.
It seemed like something was on his mind. Did something happen?
"Is everything okay? You seem really stressed. Anything I could help you with?"
"No Clara. I'm fine. Please leave." he said firmly, not looking up from the computer screen.
"Okay.Okay." I said holding my hands up in surrender. "I was just trying to help." I said as I opened the door.
Then I remembered what I wanted to ask him. I looked down at my down at my fingers hesitant.
"Dominic. There's something I've been meaning to ask you." I said nervously.
