The Parents

Recap:

He held it in front of me and continued. "I heard my parents talking about how rings were givin to the people you love and were a promise that you will stay together forever. I promised you that if we ever met again, that I would marry you. Can you believe it? Fourteen years later and here we are. This was not the scenery that I would of planned to propose to you but I guess this was just meant to be. The second that you walked into my office with you cute little hair all pinned up in a high bun and you looked like a deer in headlights I knew that you were the girl for me. Sometimes I'm glad that I forgot that you were the girl that I feel in love with when I was little because I got the chance to fall in love with you all over again once you walked into my office. Now I feel in love with you twice so I'm pretty sure that you are the girl for me. You make me want to be a better person. I keep on telling you that everyday because it's true. If I have not already told you this, Clara Jones I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?" he breathed out one final breath.

The tears were streaming down my face as quickly as water falling down a waterfall. I was scared that my voice would crack so instead I just nodded. Dominic's face turned to pure joy and happiness as he fit the ring on my finger and took my face into his hands. Without a single thought, we shared another kiss.

This was the best day of my life. Kissing the boy that I loved and being in his arms made me felt like his princess. No wait, his angel. I'm glad that I have my guardian angel by my side.

I never got the chance to tell him but I love him. I really really love him with all my heart and soul.

I can't wait to be called Mrs. Wilmur.

After Dominic proposed to me in front of everyone in the airport might I add, I thought everything would be fine now. He knew the truth, I knew the truth, we were both engaged, and I am not moving back to my home town.

The only thing that I forgot was the key factor that got me into trouble right now. My parents.

Dominic took me home and explained to me why he could not call me last night. He told me about how his parents wanted me gone and this is what made me beyond furious. Why would his parents go against what he thinks is right and actually put him under house arrest with security guards at his door? Dominic is old enough to make his own decisions.

I know that I have to see them again because we are engaged and we have to tell them. I just don't know how on earth I am going to face them. Dominic and I have decided that today would be the perfect day to tell both my parents and his about the engagement. Fun right?

Right now we are in a taxi that is parked outside of my house but as I stared at the house that I never thought I would be back again, all I could think about was how am I going to face my family again after the note and the luggage in the trunk of the car.

I felt Dominic hold my hand as I made no movement to move out of the car.

"Come on Clara. You have to face them some day and it's only 10:00 so they might be still sleeping. Besides, I am a very charming young man. Who would ever dare to turn down this face." he poked me in my stomach and pushed me out of the car. I heard the taxi driver laugh from inside the car at Dominic's comment. I grabbed the luggage from the trunk and slammed the trunk closed. From outside of the taxi Dominic handed the driver money.

"Wait sir this is too much money." The lady yelled from inside of the car but I saw the way that she looked at the money. Inside she was probably glad that she received so much money but on the outside she is not showing that at all.

"Keep it. I tip every driver that actually laughs at my jokes. It boosts up my ego."

I leaned against him on my toes so that the driver could see me from behind him. "Not that he needs any more of a boost. I mean, there is a difference between confidence and arrogance." I winked at the driver who looked completely baffled on what to say or better yet, who to agree with. The driver decided to say nothing and drive away which was smart in my opinion but the driver should have agreed with me. Just saying.
