CHAPTER 18
Arita swam out of the cave and realized she was right back where she was, in the garden. A sigh of relief swept over her and she swam fast into town, searching for her friends.
She bumped into Brookie right outside the palace.
"Hey watch it-" Brookie started, then she realized it was Arita.
"Oh my God Rita! Where on earth have you been!" She gripped her by the shoulders and hugged her. The others spun around to see her.
"Arita!" Michael hugged her then gave her a stern look and a scolding finger. "What is wrong with you? Where the hell where you?"
"I'm sorry Michael.." I frowned, "I just..." Arita didn't know what to say! Should she tell them about her creepy encounter? Or leave it be?
"I went to look at the seaweed and got a little lost." She threw in an awkward laugh, then notice the concerned look on Nick and Levi's faces.
'Awh, Nick was worried about me.' she thought, and sighed to herself.
"Well at least you're back." Brookie smiled.
"Yup! Okay so I think what we need to do is find some kind of map to use and go from there." Arita said.
"Way ahead of ya, bought one while you were missing." Michael stated.
Arita chuckled, "Glad you went out and bought a map while I was being-" She cut herself off, "Observant."
"Your fault." Michael shrugged. Arita rolled her eyes at his response.
Brookie noticed her huff and spoke up. "Don't worry Rita, me and Nick were worried." She locked arms with Arita and Arita gave her a soft smile.
Michael studied the map a bit longer then started directions, "okay," he shouted, "we need to pack food and everything the head south."
"Keep your voice down!" Levi yelled, and Arita laughed.
"Me, Rita, Brookie and Jacob will go get supplies, you scope out anything else we'll need." Nick said. Arita turned to look at him, surprised at his gesture. "Okay. Meet back here in an hour." Michael replied.
They all split and swam away.
