Ten minutes had passed since Sandra and Lady Anna had started to walk.
"Well, could you explain what an academy is? Could you do the 'honors'?", said Sandra as she was trying to crack a joke in the cool, tensed surroundings.
"I will do it as soon as we reach the Academy. I had expected a little more patience from the descendant of Mary Merrick!"
"Yeah, right", thought Sandra, rolling her eyes.
They soon reached a huge palace-type of mansion, like those castles in Cinderella stories and stuff.
They entered the Palace, through huge gates that were studded with things that looked like diamonds.
Lady Anna spoke two words with a fat man at the gate and signaled Sandra also to come. Next, they entered a humongous room, with a high ceiling, which was filled with paintings. The walls were covered with tapestries. Sandra felt like she was in a big church.
They walked down a wide passage and Lady Anna escorted Sandra to a room.
"Well, this is your room from now on. You can freshen up and clean yourself. When you think you are ready, please ring the bell in your room. Benjamin will escort you to me."
"Alright, Lady Anna. It was Anna, right?", asked Sandra nervously.
"Yes. Meet you later Lady Sandra."
Sandra just nodded her head. When she saw Lady Anna leave, she exhaled a sigh of peace, and mouthed," buh-bye you freak!"
Just as Sandra went into her room, a small boy appeared from behind the curtains.
"Hello!", a small voice whispered.
Sandra sharply inhaled and quickly turned around, alarmed.
"Oh no! Benjamin scared you, didn't he?", said the boy with worried eyes.
"Oh! You are Benjamin then!", said Sandra.
"Yes, only Benjamin can be Benjamin. Lady Sandra can't be Benjamin!", said the boy earnestly.
With a small chuckle, Sandra decided to examine the boy.
He was a cute one, with untidy hair, sticking out in many places. He had soot smeared across his forehead, and wore an old straw hat. But, he was so adorable!
A locket was around his tiny neck. It consisted of a chain and a spherical pendant with what looked like wings hung with it.
When Sandra examined him, he realized that and blushed, clearly shy. Sandra noticed that and quickly cut her gaze.
"Well Benjamin, I will ring when I want something. Until then you can go back to play!"
"No, miss. Benjamin doesn't have friends to play with."
Sandra felt bad for him. She said "Why don't we do this? I will freshen up, talk to Lady Anna for some time, and then we will have a dose of chess? Perhaps?"
"Yes, miss. Benjamin loves chess! He will surely beat you!", said the boy, now cheered up.
"Challenge accepted dude!"
"Dude, miss?"
"Oh. Never Mind."

Sandra Johnson had the greatest shock of her life when she looked into her closet.
It was filled with gowns, gowns and......

GOWNS!!!!!!!!
Well there was a very tiny cupboard filled with satin bonnets, gloves, scarves and stockings. And a few neck pieces. And a few bracelets. And basically, things that she detested. Hard.
Well, tired from the grand tour, from New York, to Britain, and wait. She had travelled through time! How was that possible?!
"Maybe I am going haywire."
Then she suddenly remembered what puppy lord said. He had talked about some fairy crap.
Then suddenly a word clicked- 'Magic'.
Wait a minute.
Magic was one thing Sandra never believed in. Yeah, she had painted her wall with some quote related to pixie dust and all that. But, that was supposed to be a motivational quote. Not reality.
"Well, I hope I could talk to puppy lord again."
"OH, don't call me that, Sandra! Well, talk to me!", said a familiar voice in her... wait! Someone was talking in her head!
Sandra searched her whole room and found nobody."Oh! Don't waste my and your time girl! Just speak! In case, if you are just wondering how we are doing this, look at the pendant of the string hung around your neck. That was your Grandma's gift when you were born, right?"
"Um... Ye-es?", said Sandra, now petrified.
"Well. It was the Great Mother's gift to your ancestors. It lets you talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, if you wish to."
"Oh."
This was all Sandra could muster up.
She let her head rest on the comfy bed and said, "Well, puppy lord?"
"Yes? OK. I am getting used to this nonsensical name of yours. Mam natur bless me!"
"OK. Good that. Now, how did I travel through time?"
"Oh, that. Forgot to tell you, dear. Remember that pinhole in your room? It acts like a gap between two worlds. You can go through that at only very special times."
"Like the day before eighth grade begins?"
"NO, you silly girl! On full moons and new moons. And sometimes when you really, really want to go through it.
"Aha! Now I get it!"
"OK. Now is my job done?"
"No! No, wait. Do I have any powers like your fairy folk do?"
"It's not my job to tell you that, dear. I have to go now. Farewell."
Sandra heard a chuckle, then a faint beep and the puppy lord's voice was gone.
Sandra suddenly felt as if she knew all of this, and was quite accustomed to it, to her own surprise.
She was suddenly very tired and her eyes shut on its own. She drifted to a paradise, away from all this mess. She drifted to sleep.
