"Sandra? Sandra, its daddy, dear. Please open the door. Please."

"No."

"Come on, grandma is not all that bad! Its dinner time and there is a huge delicious dessert spread on the supper table!", her father, Mr. Johnson, said trying to persuade her.

"No."

Suddenly a shrill voice called out from the kitchen, "THAT'S ENOUGH YOUNG LADY! I DON'T LIKE STUBBORN GIRLS!"

Grandma's voice was shrill and musical but also loud. But, right now, it was ANNOYING for Sandra.

"Dad, I am NOT coming."

"Sandra, please, try to understand. I don't want a rebel in this house now!"

Again, the shrill voice said, "Don't pamper her Brian. She must mind her manners."

"That's it", thought Sandra. She slammed the door open, rushed down the stairs, ignoring her father's words and screamed loudly, "THAT IS THE REASON WHY I GROAN WHEN YOU COME HOME! WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME THE WAY I AM?! GET OVER WITH YOUR VICTORIAN WAYS NOW!"

Grandma looked at her with more of surprise than anger, "That's a boiling pot of anger. I would take a shower of ice cubes if I were you!"

Mrs. Johnson chuckled from behind, to get a deadly stare from Sandra.

Sandra slowly tried to digest what just happened, because she hadn't expected THIS. After realizing what just happened, she just walked up to her room and wished grandma hadn't come.

After a few minutes of staring at the ceiling and doodling in her book (which seemed like hours), Sandra sat up and thought about what had happened a few minutes back. She felt furious about herself for feeling guilty. She slowly thought to herself whether she should apologise to Grandma or not. She knew she had done something horrible, just walking up to grandma and screaming at her. And, and grandma not saying anything about it- that just added to her guilt!

'Should I or should I not?'

Finally, she decided to go to Grandma and say sorry.

As she walked to Grandma's room, she could hear a voice singing softly. It was Grandma.

"This voice was not like the one a few minutes ago, not at all!", she thought remembering how grandma had shouted.

She went in and went up to grandma.

"Grandma?"

"yes, dear?"

"um... I'm... I wanted to ....", she started hesitatingly and finally gathered up all the courage she had and said, "I just wanted to say I am sorry about what- what happened back then."

"Oh, not at all! It was all quite amusing, young lady!", grandma replied with a twinkle in her eye.

"Oh, ok. So, I'm glad you didn't feel bad because I just came to say I didn't, mean whatever I said..."

"Ok now! Go to bed! Young lasses never stay awake late!"

Sandra, now relieved of her guilt, went back to her room, smiling.
