I made myself comfortable on the couch and curled myself into a ball. I was lonely, now more than ever—no one to hate, to fight with or even smile with. I was just alone.

My cheeks heated as I realized that I had agreed to act like Julian's lover, with that he could easily take advantage of me, if he even sensed Stark nearby. I sighed and glanced at the door. My first thought was to explore the large mansion but I really just wanted to talk to someone.

I stood and made my way downstairs. I tiptoed as If I was going to get caught doing something that I wasn't suppose to.

"Ah, the little slave girl." The women from earlier appeared before me and smiled.

I froze awkwardly and stared at her.

"Oh, hello." I mumbled.

"Julian allows his slave to wander around while he's gone?" She asked. I rolled my eyes but continued to fake a smile.

"What would it matter if he did or not. I was simply looking for someone to talk to, not like I was going to escape. I have no one out there so there's no point in trying." I stated.

She frowned and inched closer. I stood proud in my place with a smirk.

"You're a blunt one," she growled. "it appears that you need to spend more time in that cell."

"Not at all, I've been good for Julian and that's my only duty—to obey Julian and no one else." I raised a brow and sighed.

I saw rage flare up inside of her but the moment she opened her mouth to speak a hand clasped her shoulder. I glanced at the gentleman who wore a soft expression.

"Calm down," he smiled. "We didn't find any illegal blood or any humans that could be used for trafficking, so we'll be on our way."

I watched the women just crumble under his finger tips. The way her expression softened to match his and the way her lips curled into a smile. I took a deep breath and she walked away leaving the man in her place.

"Sorry about my master, she just doesn't accept how Julian is treating you so freely. Usually he keeps his slaves on a short leash." The man chuckled.

"If anything, Julian is testing me." I admitted.

The man raised a brow and chuckled.

"I see," he muttered. "Well, we will be on our way; let Julian know that he successfully passed the inspection."

"Yes, have a safe trip back." I muttered and watched him turn to meet his master. She shot me one last glare, grunted and quickly disappeared with all of her guards.

I felt lonely and more than anything—I felt depressed. It was weird not being able to fight with Julian or get the bickering from Christian.

I glanced at the maid who glared obviously. I winked and turned to head back to Julian's room but she cleared her throat and appeared in front of me. It was the maid that Stark warned me to keep a distance from.

"A slave shouldn't leave the room. You'll filthy the whole house." She smirked.

"So, what's your excuse?" I asked. "You're just the help, a servant. I pity you more than I pity myself."

She glared and took a step closer with a threatening stance.

"That's funny because last time I checked, I wasn't forced to become a slave for a man who killed the only family I had—unlike you."

"No, but technically you're a slave as well, one that has to work or be killed. I, on the other hand—I won't be killed as long as I obey Julian's orders," I smiled. "Oh and you bet your ass I'm going to obey him. One tiny mistake from you and he'll replace you and then kill you. I don't have much to worry about."

She hissed and vanished. I laughed in victory and headed back to Julian's room, the cosy vibe was startling. Normally the feel of anything Vampire related was normally dark, gloomy and even death-like.

This room was more cozy and relaxing than most places I've experienced in all of my years. It was like he liked it the way where he could relax too.

I sighed and dropped face first onto the soft mattress. The warmth of the bed was what I had longed for for so many years. At the camp we slept on towels if we were lucky; the vampires made sure that humans had nothing that would make us happy or comfortable. We always had lack of clothes and supplies ever since the vampires took over.
