Confined in restless seas
That possibly could
Never seize,
She was drowning
And tormented by
Endless gnawing
From anxiety she
Couldn't comprehend
But you had her
Heart in hand.
And oh you pulled
Her to shore.Winter.
It was winter for her-
Too harsh for her
Soul to bare,
But you warmed
Her with your embrace
And only that
Ended her haze.Yes, you sang the song
Of September for her.
Though she knew
Not what it meant, she was
Blessed by the grace
Of your voice
And satiated was her void. Now it's summer,
And for the first time
She's having a
Serene slumber.
Awoken by the taste
Of your cherry-stained
Lips lying in her
Subconscious mind,
Life could only ever
Be this kind.
The thrilling rush
You sent through her
Spine when you
Caressed her caramel
Skin with your fingers
still lingers.2am, on a cacophonous
Tuesday morning
And she's no longer
Mourning. Finally
She understands.
She understands that
Whether it is winter-
Whether life becomes
Too much of a burden for
One to carry, summer
Will always come.
She knows now that
You won't be coming back
Because it's summer and
She won't be needing
You anymore.Yes, she understands the
Song of September but
Darling, won't you
Sing the song once more?
Just to fill the cracks
Between all the syllables-
To give her the closure
She N E E D S .
