You my darling,
Clutched your lighter,
Gazed into my eyes
And ever so vilely
Lit me up.
Yes, you set fire to
The very rain you
Sent pouring down on
Me when I was so
Scorched I was desolate,
But all I want to know
Is why those flames
Made me feel so alive!
Still, how did you so
Ferociously rain down on me,
Yet your vicious storms nourished the parched
Earth I was so much
Allure daffodils
Grew in between
The cracks in my soul?
Tell me, how can you
Be a sea of peril and
Nevertheless bountiful
My love?
How are you the only oases
In my desert,
Yet you are the hurricane
That thieves my heart's
Shelter?
Oh baby, how can you
Make the angels sing
So harmoniously when
You are only the devil's
Advocate?
Why do I think of you
When flowers smile
Because of the sun
Yet too much of
The light- too
Much of the beauty
Deprives the larkspurs
Of so much life their
Thirst becomes
Unquenchable?
How did you fool me
Into believing you
Are earth- enriched with
Soil, oxygen and trancing
Aromas when you are
Only the sun?
Yes my love,
I know you've settled
In evergreen pastures
When all I do is
Revolve around you on a
Quest to acquire fulfilment.
Yes, I know.
I know I'm foolish for
Thinking you are a crystalline
Blue rose when you
Are only a chameleon.
You are no rose-
You are no blue rose-
You aren't mystifying,
Morbid or enigmatic;
You're insipid.
But tell me,
Just tell me,
Do I love you
Or hate you
When you are
So bitter sweet?
