I grabbed my tray and sat down at my normal spot across from Avery, at our little table behind the fountain. Poking at my food i started to zone out at usual and think about what's going to happen when i get home late because of stupid detention. I sighed as i pushed my tray away from me, great now i just ruined my appetite. “Hey are you alright..?” i heard Avery ask. I Looked up and met his saddened eyes he probably knows what's going on through my head. I forced a smile “yes Avery i'm fine.” Based off of the look he gave me i knew he didn't believe a word coming out of my mouth.
“Really, Ave i'm fine you don't need to worry about me.” I smiled again hoping to whatever the hell is out there will make Avery believe that small little lie. He smiled and looked down at his tray. “You know you havent called me that in 6 years, i missed it” i smiled as i saw his cheeks getting a light shade of pink. OMG my little ave is Blushing!! i giggled and nodded
“I know, i don't know i guess seeing you stand up for me to chad reminded me of how we first met. And how you told me your name but i couldn't pronounce every letter in your name so i called you Ave for awhile. And well when you stood up to chad it was like i was 5 again and well it kinda slipped.” i looked down at my tray and shook my hair so it would cover my blushing cheeks. He chuckled and threw a carrot at me, “Hey Rose, its okk. Like i said i missed it, besides you're still my little flower so you can still call me that.” He smiled
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. What on Earth did i ever do to deserve a best friend like, Avery. I mean really he’s so sweet, caring, gentle, and funny. Then you have me the depressed freak, who get abused and raped at home. I sighed and closed my eyes, why why must i be the one in a hell hole? Ugh.
“So rose, when did you plan on telling me why you starting fangirling over me in the middle of the hallway?” Avery asked. Oh shoot i forgot all about that!! My eyes shot open and a huge grin came across my face. “Ave, who was your childhood crush..?” i asked waiting for him to realize what i was talking about.
“Uhh, your cousin Stephen…” He hesitated a minute then dropped his spork and jumped up. “Is he coming down, is he, is he..?!” Avery asked while jumping up and down. There was no denying that Avery still has a crush on Stephen. Except i think its grown a tad bit, oh no i really hope he doesn't get crushed when he finds out Stephen has a girlfriend. I frowned just picturing the way Avery is going to act, might want to get about 40 dollars from my runaway money and go buy him ice cream, to make him feel better.
“Yes, Avery my cousin Stephen is coming down this weekend” I giggled as i saw his cheeks get pink and a huge smile come on his face. “I shall make him fall in love with me!” Avery stated as he sat down to finish eating. My smile disappeared, i may as well tell him now so he can get ready for it. Might want to tell Stephen not to talk about Rachelle when Avery is around. I already feel the nervousness forming in my stomach as i reached across the table and grabbed Avery’s hand. “Hey, Ave i has something to tell you”
By the look on his face i can tell he knew something was up. “Ave, Stephen has a girlfriend now, so you can’t make him fall in love with you. When hes already in love with someone else.” I sighed. He just stared at me and shrugged his shoulders and chuckled. “Rose, i know but….” He hesitated then looked up with his eyes wide open. As if he was about to let the cat out of the bag. There is something he’s hiding from me! “Ave, what are you hiding from me..?” I asked as calm as i could get.
“Uhhhhh….Rose, theres something i need to tell you.” he said, slowly. Damn right there is! Can't hide anything from me, i know everything. Wait that just made me sound like a creepy stalker.
