20| MEETING FURY

"Valerie, are you okay?" she heard a blurry voice of a certain God ask as she started to gain consciousness. Her brown eyes fluttered open and she immediately stood up from Thor's arms. "Doesn't matter." Thor sighed disappointedly at the woman who still wasn't keen on him, he really wanted the woman to like him. Thor was used to everybody liking him so when he found out a particular woman didn't like him, it hit him harder than expected. "Who did that to you?" Thor asked as he motioned to her neck that had red bruises from the previous choking.

"The Winter Soldier." She muttered under her breath, thinking about the man who turned back to his old self in a snap.

"We should get you medical attenten-" "Shut up!" she yelled making the Norse God of thunder obey to the Midgardian in fear as he swallowed thickly, knowing full well what she was capable off when mad.

"Where is everyone?" Valerie suddenly asked, taking in the room she was standing in. It was Bucky's room, she knew that by the open wooden closet not so far away from where she woke up in the God's arms plus a door lying broken on the floor.

"I do not know. I have just arrived in New York." He said. Valerie paced around the room before heading towards the window and opening the curtains.

Most of the buildings that circled around the Avengers tower were destroyed, on fire or were just debris on the ground.

Valerie ran towards the hall and into the elevator with Thor a few steps behind her. They quietly stood in the elevator waiting for it to open at the top floor.

Once she stood in the loving room a small device caught her eye and she immediately picked it up and shoved it in her ear. "Hello? Steve? St- Tony? Someone?" She rapidly called into the earpiece she just found.

Thor ignored the woman and her calls to the team as he picked up the remote of the TV and turned up the volume of the already flashing TV. Valerie turned around to face Thor when no one answered but her eyes immediately darted towards the words flashing red on the TV.

'Emergency drill. Stay inside.'

Valerie breathed out a shaky breath. HYDRA has done it. They brought timidity and silence to whole city of New York. Winn had killed up to twenty people in a day and The Winter Soldier rose up again which probably means more people died. HYDRA had taken over the S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hellicarrier and just as Winn said; they were about to kill every single person that could be a threat to HYDRA.

Valerie overthrew one of the many sofa's making Thor look confused at her sudden actions. The bottom of every sofa had a whole lot of weapons attached to it like guns, knifes and ammo. It was the stuff she needed because under no circumstances she was about to reveal her powers.

Valerie already had 3 fully loaded guns yet she hungrily grabbed more weapons such as Natasha's knifes. They were light and fitted perfectly into her hands and Valerie mentally thanked Natasha for revealing her secret place of weapons to her.

"You have powers!" Thor yelled out mad as he stared at the woman grabbing weapons off the couch. "Will you shut up for once? After all off this, I'm getting rid off it!" Thor went quiet as he kept on watching Valerie grab more and more weapons and attach it to her utility belt.

"What do you mean?" He asked confusingly as Valerie walked passed him towards the elevator. "After all of this, Tony will cure me." Thor scoffed bur Valerie chose to ignore it as she held the elevator door open for the so called mighty God.

"You coming?" She asked impatiently, her feet tapping the metal floor furiously. The sound of the tapping echoed through the silent room and Valerie's impatience grew as Thor hasn't moved an inch as he kept on staring at Valerie.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes as she quickly pressed the button to the lowest floor.

The streets were empty outside from cops and soldiers who were patrolling with their guns tightly in their hands, you could basically smell their fear when they heard a noise that wasn't known to them. Soon 3 soldier ran up to her telling her to get inside but she laughed and pushed them away. They had seen her utility belt and her thigh holsters with guns and knifes in it and soon every soldier and cop around her had their guns aimed at her.

And when Valerie walked passed a group of soldiers, her presence wasn't quiet unnoticeable, not with all the weapons attached to her body anyways.

"Weapons!" One of the soldiers yelled out loud and soon every soldier who had eyes on Valerie had aimed their gun towards the woman. One of the soldiers demanded her to put her hands behind her head but instead of doing that she held her hands besides her and cocked her head to the side. "Come on, you guys don't want to shoot me... I have a grenade attached to me so if you miss... you'd blow half New York city up."

"Drop your guns, she's with me." A man said from behind the soldiers. She detected the voice as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D, Nick Fury, whom she actually never met before but heard great things about.

The guns that were aimed at her dropped to the ground and the soldiers all parted ways without any apology to the woman. When the soldiers around her cleared up, she saw the one and only Colonel Nick Fury smiling slightly at her.

"Colonel Fury." She greeted, a small smile on her lips. "Call me Nick." "Nick." She corrected herself.

"So Valerie, I have taken a big interest in you..." he suddenly said.

So this story landed on the 17th place in the hashtag Infinity war and I'm really confused because this isn't an Infinity War fanfic... lmao I'm not complaining though.
