Brave The Storm

Let still your heart storm.
Rain clouds are built into that
Chest cavity, lungs missing
In exchange for iced water
That freezes us all, sadness
Makes you more fragile.

You deny being so fragile,
Making your words a storm
Of pain, icicles of sadness
Strewn at us, you make that
Love hard to show. The water
From your eyes goes missing.

You say you’re not missing
Out on anything, not so fragile
In the presence of cold water.
Let me calm your heart storm,
I’ll bring sun to your winters that
Make you so cold with sadness.

I, too, have a frosty sadness,
But my sunlight is never missing
From my beating heart, that
Is my strength; not as fragile
When I let pass the storm,
Let flow your flood of water.

Don’t be afraid of your water
Even if it’s built from sadness
Because together, sun and storm
Make balance in self. No missing
Parts in your body, no fragile
Bits I can’t care for, I know that.

Maybe you don’t know that
Yet, but soon the water
Will come, and wash the fragile
Pain away, and clear some sadness
With it. Don’t fear what is missing,
You didn’t need it, thank the storm.

There will always be that sadness,
But your waters will never go missing.
Fragile is your strength, brave the storm.
