"Why are you doing this?"
"Simple. Political gratification."
In a world where politics translate into lies, greed, and power, can love really make it? Can there be love?

"A lot of the people we're assuming will be white, Middle to lower class, die-hard Conservatives that will scream and shout in agreement with anything you say, so..." Nelly rolled her eyes as she shifted her focus away from Samuel's endless droning to the back of Agent Spencer's head. The other agents surrounded the car constantly throughout the drive in separate cars.
She adjusted her white dress, the ring that weighed heavy on her finger and heart caught her attention as it glinted back at her. She sighed, closing her eyes before reverting them to their original position. She sat against the window with Ameena sitting between her and Preston. A much needed separation indeed.

"Oh my god!" Ameena screeched as she held up her phone, her eyes glued to the screen and her hand pressed against her chest as if to calm its racing speed. Nelly was snatched from her reverie at the sound, her eyes snapping to Ameena in annoyance at her breach of the peace. This emotion dissipated as she saw Samuel jump in the front seat at the sound of Ameena's excited exclamation. She smiled at this.
"Jesus Christ! You nearly gave me a heart attack. Is that what you want? For me to have a heart attack and die, Amelia?" Samuel questioned, his beady eyes staring into Ameena's.
Nelly's eyes snapped to Samuel, her annoyance flaring at his flagrant mistreatment of her staff member. "Her nam–."
"It's Ameena, asshole and you should really check social media. Oh, and to answer your questions, I would not mind you having a cardiac episode," Ameena answered, her eyes looking at the ceiling of the car as if in thought. "Yeah, no, I wouldn't mind it at all."
Nelly chuckled for the first time in the past 10 hours. She liked that Ameena was able to stand up for herself despite seeming small and diffident. She was always respectful to those that respected her, but she didn't take BS from anybody and that made her an excellent member of her team.
"What exactly is going on?" Nelly asked, her curiosity getting the best of her.
Ameena swiped her finger across the screen of her phone, her fingertips working quickly to find the source of her excitement. "Look at this."
It was a live stream of the rally on CNN. To Nelly's pure shock and happiness Sasha, Preston's sister, was the first to appear on the screen. She was giving an interview to an anchorwoman of the show.
"That video that leaked of your family's dinner, is it real?" The anchorwoman asked, her face inquisitive.
"Of course it's real. I'm the one that recorded it and released it to your network and others. It was time for those that love my father so dearly to truly know who they're enamored with. A racist bigot," Sasha answered. At her last two words, the crowd began to scream and yell in excitement, waving poster that read various things.
