Celine giggled with Gift behind her back, she can't believe they prefer to gossip tonight, honestly she's beginning to wonder what those two were talking about, I can't believe I almost gave myself away like that.

"Come on.. relax a little, you didn't tell me you have handsome gentleman working with you " I heard Celine mocking me behind.

"Really are you here to help me or not, if You had paid a good attention, you would have noticed that those handsome gentlemen you described were that Mr. Arrogant and his friends I think, so please do me a favor and help me to concentrate" I replied her, gosh am losing it, My friend and sister are falling for those idiots, I can't believe this night is turning against me.

"Who do I've here.. Oh Miss Davies, I must confess your company event planner did a good job in organizing this welcome party for me.. Am honored"

"Good evening Mr. Derrick, good to know that you are enjoying yourself tonight, we will do all we can to make your partnership with us a memorable one, if you will excuse me I have some issues to attend to " l replied nervously.

"Wait! "

"Am sorry, I think we met in a rather complicated situation. Let me make it up to you "

I couldn't help but  bursted out laughing.

"You're hilarious " I said trying to control my outburst.

"I would 've loved to stay and chit chat with you but honestly I 've things to do ". I told him walking away.

I don't want him to notice the effect he had on me, I can't believe after all this years, any man will make me this nervous, giving him my most charming simile I walked away.

"Good evening Ma'am " Turning around I met eyes with my personal secretary.

"Come on, You're making feel old, we're not in the office, so please feel comfortable and call me by my name, what can I do for you Vivian? " I asked her walking towards the bar stand.

" Awhile ago an envelope arrived for you , it specifically stated to be delivered to you ".she said handing out an envelope to me.

"You're sure it was for me? ".

"Yes ma'am !".

Collecting the envelope from her hand, I felt a strange and curious, panick rushed all over me who would sent her an envelope tonight of all day.

"Thank You Vivian.. Enjoy the party". I told her tapping her shoulder before
Walking to my office, hopefully I hope it was nothing serious.

I sighed and breath softly, few seconds later ,I decided to open the envelope before me, I  took a deep breath once more and tore the cap away.

She can't believe her hands were shaking by now.

That bastard sent her this... She can't believe this after everything he put her through emotional for the past years.

He had some gout !

She thought, the nerve of the man!

I can't believe he has the enffontary to sent me this trash.

Long ago memories of that painful night flooded through Rita's head and she closed her eyes.

It was on their graduating night, Gift has convinced her to surprise Sebastian .
She loved him with all her heart ,he will give up everything for him, Sebastian was her first love, after the death of her parents, she has been so withdrawn to herself, Her new family tried to bring love back to her life but she couldn't feel it, the first five years she was with them was very lonely for her, Gift was always there for to comfort her, until the day she met him .
Like they said "love heals any wound '....he was her light and World,he gave her a reason to live and be happy.
Everything was working perfectly well until that night, they had plans together but he scattered that dreams, he destroyed her soul ,betrayed her trust and left her heart broken, she could not believe he will cheat on her with her worst rival of all time, she had walked into them making out at the graduation party night, confronted him and he admitted to her face that he never loved her, how he decided to date her out self pity and wanted to use her as a bet.

She had slapped him that night, crying uncontrollably, Her sister was right beside all through the night and comforted, she had wonder if she could push through but that night, she made a decision never to ever cry over any man or fall in love again, she promised to be strong for her sister and her family, she will never be vulnerable to any man's peril, she will be strong and fight it.

Because a Man's heart was full of lies and deception.

She thought so until both her and Gift bumped into him on that fateful day at her office ,she knew he saw her and the effect he had on her, luckily for her, Gift had dragged her to her office afterwards but they never exchanged a word to each other, dammit, he hated that bastard, they both went to hangout that night at their favorite bar, she had decided to get drunk and have fun, uptill now she still couldn't remember who she had danced with and brought her to her house.
Brought back from her thoughts, she raised her head up to see her two best friends walking in.

knocking.. Knocking.Opening the door

"wow oh my love, what happened to you, oh my I'm such a bad friend, how could I not notice that my friend was having a terrible day " Celine said rushing over to her best friend and she hugged her tightly.

Gift walked over to the table and picked up the envelope, opening it.

"How could he sent this to you, what the hell does he want with you after all this years, has he not done enough?. "Gift said trying  to calm her down while rubbing her back  gently .

"If we stand together, we will crush anyone down together, no one will ever hurt any of us again.... Gift said confidently".

"You know after seeing him that day at the reception, I felt he was up to something, I don't know what I would've done without the both of You as my strength.  Thank You! "

"Friends stick together and help each other out through it all !" .Celine said.

"And we're with You Every step of the journey ".

The three of them hugged each other passionately.
She was so lucky to have such loyal friends who loved her so much.

"Let's head out alright, I will give the closing speech, then we can go home for tonight, am exhausted already "she told them upon composing herself while straightening her gown,she felt so much lighter now that she know she was not alone in this.

Sebastian has sent her their wonderful romantic pictures together in pass and the Saturday evening she had went strolling, she wonder the kind of message he was sending to her but one thing she know for sure, was that she will never back down nor forgive him for betraying and hurting her.

He was the reason why she had lost trust and faith in men and has classified them as untrustworthy specie, making their words unreliable and deserving of loving once more again.

Holding hands together, they both walked out of her office back to  the party.
