I wake up the next morning with a pounding headache, a sore throat, and a stomachache like none other. The second my eyes open, I feel the uncontrollable urge to throw up. I leap out of bed and sprint down the hallway, throwing open the bathroom door. I just barely make it to the toilet when I begin to throw up.

"Helaina?" I hear Mom call. Unable to respond, I just continue to throw up into the toilet. I hear her footsteps head down the hallway, growing closer as she approaches me. I finish throwing up and look up, seeing Mom standing in the doorway with a worried expression.

"Hi." I say weakly. I flush the toilet and stand up, pulling my hair back off my neck.

"Are you okay? Did you get sick last night?" she asks, walking over and feeling my forehead with the back of her hand. "You don't feel warm."

"I threw up a few times last night." I say.

"Why didn't you wake me up and tell me?" she asks.

"I don't know, I was so out of it..." I say.

"You should take a hot bath. I'll make you a light breakfast." Mom says, and I nod. She begins to walk away but turns around and adds, "Oh and sweetie? You can keep your phone for today."

"Thanks." I say.

I turn on the hot water and plug the drain, the water beginning to fill up the bathtub. I toss the bath bomb into the tub and walk away, listening to the faint fizzling sound. I walk out of the bathroom and go back into my room, grabbing my phone off my nightstand and a bath bomb out of my closet. I head back into the bathroom and shut the door, locking it behind me. I head back into the bathroom and take off my pajamas and put them in a pile on the ground. I walk over to the bathtub and sit down in it. I turn on my phone and open up my messages, sending Shawn a text.

H: i'm so hungover

Like always, he replies almost immediately.

S: I'm sorry, that sucks

S: Do you think I can see you today

H: if my family leaves, maybe

S: Feel better babygirl

H: thanks

I press the home button, exiting out of my texts and opening up snapchat. I take a picture of the bath with my leg in it and send it out my streaks.

Almost immediately after I send the picture out, I get a reply from Shawn. It's a picture of his face, and his eyes are wide.

S: Are you in the bath?

I roll my eyes, snapping back a picture of my face from the collarbone up.

H: no, im in the pool

S: Babe

H: yes?

S: would you be mad if i asked you to send me a picture
