Adrien's POV

"Will you shut up already?"

"But, Plagg, she wanted to check on me!" I sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time, and my kwami rolled his eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"Big deal." Plagg said. "She's a super hero. She's supposed to check on civilians."

I cast a slight glare at Plagg and shook my head. "Why'd you say that for?"

"Because it's true." Plagg grumbled. "Plus I'm tired of hearing you sigh."

"I can't help it. She kissed me!" I sighed with a smile as Ladybug came into my mind once more. "She's amazing."

"You know who else is amazing?" The kwami asked. I gave him a curious look as if asking who.

"That one girl from that one day." Plagg said. "Now she was amazing."

"Very helpful, Plagg." I took my turn to roll my eyes. "Now which girl is that?"

"I don't know..." Plagg grumbled at my lack of understanding. "That one who had cheese for me."

"You mean Marinette?" I asked. "Yeah, she's pretty cool."

"Kid, I say she's a keeper."

"And why do you say that?" I asked, a slight blush coating my cheeks.

"She has a house full of cheese." Plagg sighed dreamily, and I knew he now was wanting camembert. "Speaking of which, can I have cheese?"

I pulled out a wheel of camembert for my kwami without a complaint. I wanted to know if there was more to Plagg's reasoning than just the fact that Marinette lived in a bakery. "I could care less if she had cheese." I said. "That doesn't matter."

"That's a shame..." Plagg muttered, taking a ravenous bite of his camembert. "She seemed to have a thing for you too."

"What was that?" My eyes widened slightly. Did he just say what I think he just said?

"She seems into you." Plagg said, swallowing a bit more cheese.

"Why do you say that?" I asked. My cheeks felt warm as my blush slightly grew.

"I could understand the words her parents were saying." Plagg told him. "I know you could too. They were making it quite clear that she talks about you a lot, and good things at that."

"I guess you're right." I took a deep breath, trying to clear my head.

"You think I'm done there?" Plagg asked with a snicker. "I've seen the way she looks at you, and heard the way she talks to you."

"How could you-"

"Occasionally I peek through your bag. Big deal." Plagg said. "That's not the point. She is obviously nervous around you."

"And that's a good thing?" I demanded. From what I could tell, Marinette acted strange because she was uncomfortable around me. "She may not like me."

"Kid..." Plagg sighed, obviously almost feeling like giving up. "Take a hint! The girl likes you!"

"Alright." I said, giving up the argument. "Say that you are right. What do you expect me to do?"

"I don't know... Maybe give her a chance?" Plagg said annoyed. He began grumbling about humans being so complicated.

"But I love Ladybug." I told my kwami. "You know that, Plagg. I can't just stop loving her."

"And how far has that gotten you?" Plagg asked. "Pursuing Ladybug? As Chat, who you call, your 'true' self?"

"Not very far..." I responded quietly.

"So why not give that girl a chance?" Plagg asked. I could tell he was feeling so done with how complicated I was making this.

"What should I say to her?" I asked. I began to feel nervous at facing a girl who seemed to love me.

"Just be yourself, kid." Plagg advised me. "If she does like you, being yourself won't bother her."

"Then I need to visit her as Chat Noir." I told my kwami. "That's the only way I can truly feel like myself."

"As long as you get me camembert." My kwami told me. I agreed and was soon transformed into Chat Noir.

I tapped on the window of her room, but no answer came. "Marinette?" I called out her name softly. Although it wasn't late, I didn't want to draw attention to myself out in public as Chat Noir.

"Chat, what are you doing?"

I turned around quickly to see Ladybug standing on Marinette's balcony. She seemed worried... Panicky even.

"Oh hi, M'Lady." I said. I felt a bit awkward being caught trying to get Marinette's attention. "I was just going to pay Marinette a visit."

"She's not home." Ladybug told me.

I looked at her suspiciously. "How would you know"

"I err..." she said. A blush seemed to be spreading over her cheeks. Was I embarrassing her somehow? "I... Saw her leave with her family just now."

"Odd." I said. "Her lights are still on."

"You know Marinette..." Ladybug chuckled nervously. "So forgetful... clumsy... and not to mention awkward..."

"Why would you say that about her?" I asked. Ladybug had no right to talk about Marinette like that! Marinette was so kind, and considerate of others. Sure, she may be a little awkward at times but it was cute.

"Ladybug, I doubt you know Marinette as well as you think." I said, crossing my arms.

"Oh?" she crossed her arms too, and smirked. "And you do?"

"Yes, I do." I said. "She's a very good friend, and I don't really like the way you're talking about her."

"Do you know her?" She asked, suddenly seeming very interested. "How?"

"I first met her at school." I said. "But why does that matter to you?"

"I doubt you know me as well as you think you do." She said, her voice shaking slightly. "Why... did you want to visit her exactly?"

"I need to talk to her." I said with a small sigh. "There's a sort of rumor that I need to clear up with her. Do you have any idea when she'll be back?"

"A rumor?" Ladybug ignored his last question. "What kind of rumor?"

"I don't want to spread it if it's untrue." I said quietly. "I just need to talk to her."

"Why don't we go on a quick patrol?" Ladybug asked. She obviously wanted to change the subject. "When we're done, I'm sure Marinette will be home."

"Alright." I said with a smile. Not only would I get to spend time with M'La- I mean... best friend, I would have a chance to clear my mind and find the words to say to Marinette.
