"God you're such an artist," Amé gaped at Dana's work, intricate geometrical patterns that reminded her of her sister Ina. Ina would definitely get that tattooed, since she loves geometrical fine line tattoos. "My sister Ina, she'd love your art."
"Ina Seele?"
"Mhm," she smiled widely, the widest Dana has ever seen her smile. It was expected when she stopped writing her paper to show Dana a picture of her. "Isn't she pretty?"
Dana chuckled, shaking her head. Amé was defined as a bitch, by most people, but after getting to know her, she's the purest, most innocent girl-woman she's ever met. Amé and Ina clearly look like not sisters, but if sisterhood was created by beauty, Amé Fengári and Ina Seele were born from the same mother and father. Also, it's the fifth time in one month Amé has shown off her sister to Dana.
"She is pretty," and Dana snickered, because Ina really was. Both sisters were. It made it hard to consider her a friend, Amé made her feel dull at times but the feeling is erased when Amé complimented her often. "Does she have a boyfriend?"
Amé took a deep breath. "Eh. We don't date."
"So it is true, you guys do go to New York to have flings," Dana laughed.
Amé didn't. She didn't know what to say because in New York, Amé wasn't a student in Washington, she was... someone else. Someone braver and wilder and freer and sexier.
Almost like an alter ego.
"I know she dreams of marriage, deep inside," Amé admitted out loud. "I know she'll marry one day. Just... I'm... waiting on her to meet the right one."
"You guys sound like one. One cannot decide anything without the other."
"It seems like it, does it?" Amé smiled, but it was melancholic. "Truth is, sometimes I feel like, I am dependent on her and she's tries not to depend on me at all."
"I'm sure it's not that way."
"No, it is. We've been through hell and back but before she had broke me. We are amazing now but we will never go back to that time," Amé explains.
Dana couldn't hide her shock. You'd think they were as in love with each other as the first they they swore to never leave another, but that was false. It made her realize even the purest, strongest relationships have wounds and scars.
She was curious. She wanted to know what could Ina Seele have done to her little sister that broke her, but she knew better than to poke and prod. So she took a deep breath and went back to her drawing, while Amé typed her fingers bloody.
Amé wanted to send Dana a message, through her words. That most relationships aren't perfect, and if they are, it's not always pink hues and shades. But there's a line. Her boyfriend crossed that line by a mile.
