"I don't want to talk about Dana."
But Ina knew she was angry. An angry Amé was childish, immature and ignorant beyond limits, well to Ina, of course. She had ignored all affection from her sister, which was okay, but Ina was starting to feel defensive. Not because she didn't understood what her sister was going through, but because Ina had nothing to do with Dana.
"Tell me," she said, "why are you even here?"
Ina turned her back to her sister and closed her eyes. She had come to deliver what were either good news or the worst news possible. Now, knowing what happened with Dana and how bad it affected Amé, it was clear as day Amé wouldn't approve.
"To see you."
"Lies. You came to tell me something, because your baggage is small, for a day or two, and you were on your way before Soo-young called you. So tell me, why are you here, sister?"
"You're right," and she turned around. By the fierce look in their eyes, it was power against power. Tension rised and when it did, it only grew until it snapped to silence. "I am here to tell you, Ivaan and I are together."
"Ivaan Adinov? The mafia boss from New York who killed Jake?" She stood up from her dorm's bed and sighed. "I thought you hadn't seen him in weeks, since I last talked to him."
"He came to see me again a week ago, and he was there for me, when Samantha died. He's been with me for the week. And before you remind me he's dangerous for me, he's in New York, disintegrating the mafia so he can be the man you want him to be."
"He's getting out?" Amé asked, surprised.
Ina nodded, and her sister was disgusted by the sudden spark in her eyes. Betrayal was a growing feeling within Amé, bitter and hard to shake off.
"He is. He loves me. He's– he respects me. He keeps his word. He is very open minded like you and I. He has goals, and he's mature and he would do anything for me."
"Are you in love with him?" Amé asked, her hands gripping the desk behind her.
"I want to say no because if I say yes it'll make me look crazy. I know I just met him and yes, I know how crazy it sounds, but if you give me your acceptance we can take it slow and be a normal couple."
"You can do whatever you want," Amé shrugged. "You're a grown woman. You don't need my permission. Clearly you don't care about it since you've just told me of this now."
"Amé?" Ina whispered, confused. "Seriously?"
She shrugged again.
"This is because of Dana and Michael isn't it? You think the same thing will happen, and that I'll push you aside? Amé it'll never be that way–"
"You always expect me to tell you of my feelings when you hide yours from me and elope with some guy you know isn't good for you! He killed Jake, for fuck's sake, Idina! Not only that but don't you remember about him? Remember? I told you it was going too fast, I told you to stay away. And look, you've become a version of me now."
