More Than Rubies

Chapter 21

(Hook's P.O.V.)

Emma, Henry, and I walk out of the castle in hopes of finding a way back to Storybrooke. Four hours. That's how much time we have left. Odds are that those goodbyes said by Emma and Henry to their family were their last ones. I look down to Henry.

"You okay, kid?" Emma question.

"Yeah," he begins," I just- I really believed that we would make it back."

"We will," I reassure, even though I doubt my own words.

After a while of silence, the three of us are jerked back into reality by a loud thump.

"Who's there?" I ask while looking around.

All of a sudden, everything goes black.

"Oh, it's just little old me," a familiar voice whispers.

"Zelena," I mutter," what would you like this time?"

"I mean no harm, I just brought you here for your own good. This is a place where you can enjoy yourself, where all you worries are gone," Zelena replies.

She snaps her fingers and the lights turn on.

"Swan," I demand," where is she?"

Zelena steps in closer and whispers," That is beyond my concern. I couldn't care less about what happens to her. I'm more interested in finding out about you. Who exactly is Killian Jones? I mean besides the obvious- pirate, thief, liar, villain, etcetera."

"That pretty much covers everything," I reply slyly," but you forgot one important part to me."

I step in closer to Zelena and whisper softly," I'm not gullible."

I kick her in the stomach and start to run out of the room, only to be stopped by Zelena's magic which freezes me.

"Where are you going, Killian?" she asks seductively," To go find your 'swan girl'?"

"Well aren't you little miss perceptive?" I snap.

"I'm doing you a favor pirate. Emma doesn't want you. Why waste your time vying for someone who doesn't even care for you, when there are so many other fish in the sea?" Zelena questions before stepping towards me.

She reaches into my satchel and pulls out the ruby slippers.

"Hey!" I yell," give those back!"

"What?" she replies," I thought you wouldn't need these, given the 'man of honor' that you claim to be."

I try to grab them, but given my frozen state, I can't.

Zelena snaps, and I appear on the yellow brick road. I let out a sigh of relief when I feel the ruby slippers in my satchel.
