More Than Rubies

Chapter 18

(Henry's P.O.V.)

I look over to Hook and see concern in his eyes.

"Henry," he says firmly," we really need to speed up."

"What is it?" I ask.

"Emma turned into a monkey and took our bean which was meant to take us home," he answers.

"So we have no way home," I mumble.

He nods and then says," Which means we need to pick up the pace."

After about an hour or so, I see a building far off into the distance.

"There it is!" I shout," and we still have 18 hours left!"

I start running and Hook follows behind. Before we know it, there are large doors in front of us. But neither one of us opens them.

"Well?" I say," Are you going to open the doors?"

Hook nods.

"Just- just be careful okay?" he says.

I agree to stay safe and Hook grabs onto the door handles and pulls it open. I am almost blinded by the overwhelming amount of green in the room. I see Hook starting to walk forward, so I follow him. He seems to know where he is going.

"Do you hear that?" he asks.

"What?" I question.

"Follow me," he directs.

Hook opens another door and I am stunned by what I see. Thousands of flying monkeys coming at Hook and me. All with knives and small bottles.

"What should we do?" I scream while shooing the creatures away.

"You run. I will distract the monkeys and attempt to lead them away," Hook replies.

"But," I say," you could die."

"A risk I will willingly take if it means getting your parents and grandparents back," he tells me.

I see the sincerity in his eyes, and decide to listen to him. I run into a corner of the room and try to protect myself the best I can.

I watch as Hook tries to lure the monkeys away. They are all in a clump staring him down. Hook seems to have his eye on one monkey in particular. That's when that one particular monkey flies towards him, and holds it's knife up against Hook's neck, looking very bloodthirsty.
