More Than Rubies

Chapter 13

(Killian's P.O.V.)

"So after 24 hours, you just die?" Emma asks.

I nod," It is as if your heart is being crushed."

Emma looks terrified. I put a hand on her shoulder.

"It's going to be alright. I already have the whole things planned out," I assure her.

"What's the plan?" she asks.

" Well there is a villain. Her name is Zelena. She is holding your family captive in a land called Oz. They are trapped in a castle that should be easy to track. We just have to follow a yellow road," I inform.

Emma rolls her eyes," Seriously? Oz?"

I nod," We should leave soon. Do you have anything you can keep time with?"

"Yeah," she says while hanging me a small clock that I wear on my wrist. I grab the portal potion.

"You ready?" I ask.

She nods and I throw the bean on the ground. A portal opens up and I grab Emma's hand. She grabs Henry's hand and we all jump in together. After a moment or two, we fall onto a yellow brick road.

"We should get going," Henry says

The three of us get on our feet and start walking.

"Help!" A voice calls from a distance.

"Did you hear that?" I ask.

"Yeah," Emma says," it sounds like somebody needs help."

"But we don't have the time," Henry says , concerned.

"We'll help whoever is screaming if they happen to be along the path of the road," Emma compromises.

After a minute of walking, I spot a can filled with some sort of substance. I pick it up.

"What's this?" I question.

"It looks like an oil can," Emma replies.

Then again, the voice cries for help, only this time the scream isn't all that distant.
