A/N My absolute favorite part so far :) Dedicated to one girl who I know will love it too ^^
Greyson's POV
I squeeze my eyes close, as the girl screams bloody murder, my entire body tense. Felicity watches, completely relaxed on the sofa, shoveling popcorn into her mouth with her eyes glued on the screen, and Sadie blinks at the subtitles.
"Uh noo ssee wuff goin to die." Felicity remarked, through a mouthful of popcorn, wiping her hands on her sweats.
"What?" I shudder.
Felicity clears her throat, and begins gesturing violently. "I knew she was going to die!"
Sadie half smiles at Felicity's animated movements, but her eyes are fixed on the words on the screen. She lifts her head, and her eyes meet mine and she grins. I'm a mess - freaked out by a horror movie my sister is watching without a single flinch.
She holds up her pad of paper. It helps that I can't hear.
I weakly grin at her, and Felicity stands up to get more popcorn, her appetite completely unfazed by the fact that we had witnessed a person die. Movie or not, it's awful.
Sadie slowly scoots over, trying not to disturb her sleeping dog, who had earmuffs on.
I'm reading the killer's voice in a really squeaky voice in my head, and the character voices in weird accents.
How did you read the dead girls?
In a really low, I'm-going-to-steal-your-panties kinda guy voice.
Really ...
She laughs, then totally switches her mood, her lids half closed, a sensual smirk playing on her lips.
That's creepy, I write.
She laughs, taking the notepad from me.
I know right. My sister and I used to watch movies on silent with subtitles and act the characters out. Before I was deaf. Now I kinda just have to watch silent movies.
Sounds fun ... though, you're not missing anything with the sounds. It's AWFUL. I underline "awful" and draw a huge sad face. She laughs.
Felicity walks back into the room with more blankets and a giant bowl of popcorn, and dumps the blanket on Sadie's and my lap.
"I turned the heater off," she says and signs. "If you're cold, we have more blankets."
Blanket is drawing both hands up your chest. Okay.
I flip the blanket out, and realize she gave us the big one. I look over at Felicity, who is cocooned in one blanket, and sitting on the rest.
Really?
I hand Sadie the blanket, and she smiles gratefully, and frowns when she touches my cold hands. Don't you want it? she quickly scribbles.
I shake my head.
Are you sure
I nod.
Sadie rolls her eyes and scooches over next to me, and throws the blanket over me too. I feel better as soon as I feel the weight of the plus blanket on my legs.
But I freeze, when she lays her head on my shoulder and sighs softly.
This is really nice.
Like ... really really nice.
I try and casually wrap an arm around her shoulders. Felicity raises an eyebrow over Sadie's head, and I look away, cheeks flushing, and I'm tempted to move my arm again, but how awkward would that be if she noticed?
Sadie yawns, and shifts, eyes still on the screen, then smiles softly to herself. I look at the killer, and all I can think about is a high squeaky voice and that look Sadie did only minutes ago. I wonder how the brown haired guy's voice sounds in her head.
Her hair smells really good.
I barely pay attention to the rest of the movie, fascinated by how her hair moved when she did, or how her eyelids begin fluttering shut as she dozes off.
She's really pretty, and all the sudden, I feel nervous. Oh gosh did I shower this morning? I hope she doesn't think I stink.
I remember how she handed me all kinds of shirts and pants at the store today, telling me to turn with a swish of her finger, or as she tried to hide laughter when I came out wearing a printed t-shirt with tacos on it.
Doesn't suit you, she'd written.
But she'd clapped when I came out wearing the red flannel she'd absentmindedly picked up earlier, darting away and coming back with a black t-shirt in my size. I'd watched her as she fixed how the shirt rested on my shoulders, smoothing out wrinkles, pulling a beanie over my ears, and something in me had sparked. Alex had called just then, asking where I was, and then proceeded to tell me how whipped I was. I had wished he was there to smack him, but his words suddenly hit home as I watch the girl dozing on my shoulder.
Whipped.
Oh.
A/N I don't need to explain anything in this chapter :)
Also, I'm officially going to another Round Robin next week.... to flow some rounds. But my brother is going to debate with his partner, so I get to watch him for the FIRST time! I'm going to embarrass him after the round
