Chapter 1

Edward's POV

Marie had her heart ripped right out of her. She had no pain on her face.

We had killed James and I saved Bella from the venom.

Esme and the rest of my family took Marie back to Forks, we didn't know how long it would take for her to come back to us.

Carlisle and I stayed with Bella since she still had lost too much blood. We took her to the hospital where we informed her parents.

I stayed with her the whole time until we got back to Forks.

Once back home I went to the room where Esme said Marie was.

Alice had cleaned her and put her into a black dress. Carlisle said that her heart was too damaged to be reattached.

I touched her pale face, she was so cold, but her color and heart was starting to come back.

"I'm sorry I should've ran faster." I told her as I left the room.

Months passed and there was still no sign of her waking up. Prom had passed and I went with Bella.

We have been sending letters to Jacob, trying to make it look like it's from her.

Carlisle and I were going hunting. We chased a mountain lion, but we were close to the treaty line.

Carlisle catches it, but I smell the stench of a dog from across.

A massive black wolf is staring at me.

We need to talk. It thought towards me.

"Carlisle, the pack needs to talk. I'll go over to the edge to speak with him." I told Carlisle as I walk over.

The wolf had shifted back to a human so we could speak properly.

"What has happened to Marie?" He accused me. 

"She's safe." I calmly told him.

"Where is she? She wouldn't have just abandon the pack when you leeches are still here." He was getting mad now.

"She'll come back eventually." I tried to avoid answering the question.

"Marie left March, it's now September. What happened to her answer me." He growled.

I sighed, might as well tell him, "She's dead. Temporarily, Marie is safe at our house." I told him.

"What happened? How is being dead safe." He screamed in anger.

"She'll come back, still herself. So don't worry." I tried to calm him down.

"She better be. Her boyfriend is also worried. When she wakes tell her, that the pack needs her." He said before turning away.
