Chapter 10

Marie's POV
The next weeks have been weird around the pack because Jacob would bring up Bella. He was upset that he couldn't be with her like before. He really didn't learn anything from my story.

Yesterday, however, was different. It was a relatively terrible looking day. The rain was pouring and the scents where all drown out which made it perfect for a leech to come.

I had taken my Mustang over to Sam's house. I didn't mind the rain, but I hated wet hair so I put my hair up in a bun.
When I got there I heard the familiar truck that was so loud. Jake still hadn't joined us and now the Bella had arrived.
Bella and Jacob had a decent looking conversation before Sam called him over. Bella really looked broken but she had to get over it.

When we had gone on patrol Jacob was just thinking of here and it really made it irritating to be listening into. The day wasn't that bad because we eventually caught a leech's scent.

Today, however, was a completely different looking day. The sun shown in the cloudy sky. Today the smell of a vampire was much more prominent than before.

The pack and I had been following it for awhile now before we crossed over to the Cullen's old territory.

A familiar scent was starting to form as we neared the area where the vampires smell was overpowering.

When we broke through the forest, I wasn't surprised when I saw a certain brunette. Bella was a magnet for this type of trouble. The vampire was also familiar, he was from the baseball game.

I growled so loud that Laurent turned to see what was happening.

He began running away but I sped towards him with the others right behind me.

We cornered him as he tried to attack us. I used my massive paw to knock him to the ground and pin him. I knew that everyone has not followed because Jake was the last one to get where I had pinned Laurent. This made me mad as the rest of the pack began ripping off his limbs. Jake, however, was the one to rip off his head and toss it to the ground.

You go back. I'll burn the body. Then go home there isn't any sign of Victoria. I thought to the whole pack and they just turned, everyone but Jacob.

I shifted back and began to grab all of the limbs and made a perfect pile. The whole time my back was facing Jake.

Then I felt that he also shifted back. I heard the familiar rustling of him putting on his shorts.

"Marie..." Jake began to speak.

I growled to silence him as I made quick work to start the fire. I had used my magic to contain the fire that I started and set it to die off in an hour. When I knew nothing would go wrong I finally turned to look at him.

"What do you want?" I growled out again. Annoyed that he hadn't listened to head back.

"I want to make sure that Bella's alright." Jacob said in a low voice.
