"You shouldn't burn a bridge. You may need it at a later time."

Chapter 9

Third Person

Today was the same as any day. Bella had decided that she should try to hang out with her friends, since she had become broken without Edward here. She decided it was time to move on after all, she hasn't heard anything from the Cullens.

She had sat with her friends at lunch and proposed a movie day and everyone wearily agreed, because their friend was suddenly taking to all of them again.

They were in agreeance to meet up at the movie theaters later that day.

Marie on the other hand was just finishing her conversation with Edward. They talked about the past and the future. Of good and bad memories, the topic of when they would see eachother came up. Edward didn't answer those questions and the topic of Bella also didn't come up.

After she hung up she began to practice her skills and reflexes. She's already lost two fights with a relatively young vampire and she needed to work on stamina.

The chameleons had advanced technology opposed to that of the outside world and this is where Marie's certain technological talents help her.

The room that was in the basement was covered in mats and the walls were reinforced with tungsten, a strong but rare metal that cost a fortune to obtain. The room had addaptibal nanobots that learned from her fighting but would be turned off if she was close to "death". The technology had been fixed since it had bugs in the system but Marie was using today to test it out. The nanobots could break apart and where easier to fix when damaged.

Marie made her way downstairs and started easy at an advance level. Her choice of weapons were her talons, fangs, and sharp spikes that came from her forearms in addition to also using her magic when needed.

The nanobots formed a humanly outline and was first to initiate the attack.

Marie blocked the attack with her forearms and swiped at the area would a stomach would be. The bots began to adjust to her maneuvers and where starting to be able to block her jabs and attacks.

The training only ended after Marie landed a critical hit where a heart would have been, but the fight was dragged on and she was exhausted.

By the time she finally emerged from the basement it was dark out.

Marie had spent most of the day fighting and working out but this was good for her because she didn't feel the usual drain of power from using her abilities.

She was ready to relax before she got a phone call from Sam.

"Marie you need to come quickly." Sam said in a calm but slightly worried tone.

"What's happening?" she asked in a worried voice.

" I feel that someone's going to phase soon." the urgency in his voice made it seem that it was going to be difficult person.

"Alright I'll be there." Marie replied as she dried the sweat that was on her and headed outside. Deciding that it would be faster to just fly there.
