16: The Amphitheatre
"Wake up! Wake up!"
Sasha groaned, and rolled over inside her sleeping bag. The flap was unzipped, so the early morning sunlight was creeping in.
"Wake up, Sasha!"
Her name had the desired effect. Sasha snapped on her attention and looked up at her human alarm clock.
It was a ten-year-old girl, blonde and blue-eyed. She was fully dressed, unlike Sasha who was in some pyjamas provided by L.
"Who are you?" Sasha asked.
"E. I'm a water elementist. Come on, you're going to be late for breakfast! L and M have already gone. I know you're Felix's sister, so you probably won't get into trouble, but I will and I don't want to."
"Why don't you just run on ahead?" Sasha yawned.
"Because I'm responsible for making sure everyone's up." E explained. "This week, anyway. C'mon, it's really late!"
Sasha frowned. "What time is it?"
"Oh!" E rolled her eyes. "Sorry. 7:00 AM."
...And that was late? It had been a long time since Sasha had had to get up early.
She finished pandiculation, threw on her tattered clothes and followed E to what she was informed was the Dining Pavilion. Sasha recognised it as the place Felix made his notices yesterday. It was crammed full, and the tables were long, thin and rectangular.
"If we need more tables, Felix can grow one out of a stick!" E exclaimed.
Olivia could do that. That meant Felix had at least one Nature power with the same abilities as Olivia.
L and M waved towards Sasha, who joined them on their table. E sat down next to Sasha, eager to make friends with the newbie.
A girl of around fourteen placed a bowl of cereal in front of each girl.
"That's T." M commented. "She is the cook. Her tent, the cookhouse, is by the kitchen." She gestured to two tents straight ahead.
"Doesn't anyone else have a turn cooking?" Sasha queried.
"No. She is the cook, but there is a rota for other people to help her out. T occasionally trains, but most often she doesn't."
