25:  Closure

Olivia watched as Sasha told them the whole story of their excursion to Echo Valley.  From the beginning to the end.  Rock and Pebble recalled their parts when necessary.

When she had finished, she, Josie, Rachael, Luke and Ethan sat there in silence.

"Olivia, we've got too tell them."  Sasha broke the silence.  It was usually her to always voice the thoughts of the whole group.  Olivia used to find it irritating that she always spoke her mind.  But, at times like this she was thankful.  "The rest of the A of E.  About Felix and everything."

"Yeah."  Ethan agreed.  "We can't keep hiding things from them anymore.  Ash, Eve and some of the others who have been here the longest already reckon there's some connection between The Mysterious Boy from Fire..."

"Also known as Felix..."  Josie interrupted.

"And Sasha."  Ethan finished.

"Yeah."  Luke agreed.  "You heard them just now.  Olivia, we need to tell them.  Not all of it.  Less than Sasha.  Just the necessary details of what's coming next.  They need to know what is actually going on."

Olivia pursed her lips.

"Alright."  She finally decided.  "I'll tell them.  Tonight at dinner.

"Under one condition.

"We stop looking for new Elementists."

"But..."  Rachael protested.  "Willow Forest is like, the only safe place for us!"

"No."  Olivia shook her head.  "Here is not safe.  They are safer away from here.

"I don't want any more pieces on the board."

Olivia tapped her spoon on the side of her glass.  It made a good clinging noise, enough to gain everyone's attention.

"Okay.  I know lots of her have questions for the Councillors.  Me especially.  And... I'm going to try to answer them all.  It's going to be a long story.  But I'll get there in the end."  She smiled, to reassure herself more than anything.

She saw Luke urge her forward with his eyes.  So what if this went badly and everyone decided to leave Willow Forest?  She still had the other Councillors.  She still had Willow Forest.  She still had Luke.  And that was enough.

Olivia took a deep breath and began.
