Often times people don't realise what's happening around them until it's too late. They're too immersed in FaceBook or Instagram to realise the beauty of nature; the beauty of the world.
An unfortunate chain of events led Christian Woolfe to this revelation.
As the cold, sharp rain finally pierced through his sweatshirt, frustration took over as a cry of anguish was let out of his mouth starting deep within his stomach."What happened to me? Why did this ill-fated day have to belong to me!?" Christian asked himself these questions as he remembered that fateful day.
The "bangs" as gunshots went off; bullets zinged off metal sheets people had used to make their shacks.
It's a common thing here in South Africa. Small "houses" made of zinc and other assortments of metals. Truly it is sad but sometimes realisation that you cannot fix the world's problems sometimes trumps the grief and emphatic sadness you feel at the situation.
This housing problem in South Africa drove Christian to start inventing from a young age, inventing stuff to help others. Eventually he discovered he could make money out of this. Money that blinded him. Money that caused him to drift away from helping the poor and start making weapons.
But evetually he stopped worrying about the money.
He had made enough millions to last him a lifetime with his previous invention - A hydrogen powered drone that had efficiency and a speed that annihilated the competition. (But he never went back to helping the poor.)People would use it now for deliveries and government work because of the decibels it let off. It was almost a whisper as the drone passed overhead.
Chris began experimenting with weapons - to help armies protect the country. He was getting pretty good at it and no one knew what he was inventing.
Then one day. Someone did. They broke in and stole his research and his drone. Chris was infuriated." The outbreak of this weapon has the ability to flatten cities! You don't understand it's true power! Countries will cease to exist!!" Chris screamed as the burglars stole the weapon.
The last thing he remembered was one of the culprits grinning a toothless grin and saying:" We are counting on it."
Mass threats were created. One thing they didn't realise was that trackers had been placed on the drones. Using this and help of the army, Chris had located the 4 stolen drones.
The Australian army had then paid Chris 10 million Australian dollars for his technology. Finally his creations were used for good and not evil. With that thought he could sleep peacefully.
