Thankfully the plane ride was uneventful. There wasn't even turbulence. They managed to get some sleep as well which was a blessing. The food wasn't too bad. Not mansion good but pleasant enough.

They got off the plane and worked their way through the airport. First they got a taxi. Jean made a comment that it was lucky that it wasn't a South African one. Next they made their way to a hotel. This was one of the only decisions they actually agreed on. They decided to take it easy wutg the luxury.

They weren't certain where their next pay check would come from but their cars gave them enough money to last for a good few weeks. Months if they really stretched.

The hotel was named something that Chris couldn't pronounce. So the called it Eel-za-bek hotel. They decided that they would take a nught or two just just relax and get their bearings right. Marcus couldn't strike in a matter or hours could they?

Those two days were utter bliss. They ordered food and food, watched movies and completely forgot about their problems.
"How amazing would it be if we could just leave everything to fate and live normal lives?" asked Jean one day when they were eating salsa on the plush couches.

Chris replied quietly "We have a duty to. We built the drone. We are the only ones who can stop it's destruction so we have to make a defense!"

But as he said this his heart still wasn't 100% convicted.

Pushing the matter out of his head he stood up and propsed that they go to CERN the next morning. There was only one problem.... how to get themselves into CERN. And how to tell those people...

"We're overcomplicating this gents" said Jean, his South African accent strong. "I rate we just go there and tell them the truth. No hidden agendas. Just be blunt"

This sounded most logical so they agreed.

The next day greeted them with terrible weather. It was cold and raining. Nick got suspicious and claimed that it was a sign from "The Gods" and tried to convince the other two that they shouldn't go.

Jean and Chris just rolled their eyes and assured Nick that eveything was going to be okay.

The ordered two cappuccinos and I hot chocolate to warm themselves up.

They took a deep breath and went on their way to probably the most successful science firm in the world.

The taxi they took dropped them off at the two massive gates which swung forward after they told the German guard that they were looking for a job.

The scene was breathtaking. Massive exapanses of manicured grass surrounded an immense building. Everywhere they looked there were benches and seats underneath apple trees, birch, oak and pine. It was a serene sight.

The building had three or stories and was as wide as the eye could see. Above the large swinging doors was the CERN logo; truly something you couldn't miss. The roof had solar panels lining it, probably powered the whole building.

The three looked in awe at the building. Nick was drooling. As they entered the lobby they saw the receptionist, a well-rounded, short man with narrow eyes and cheerful smile.

"Welcome to CERN! Can I help you with anything monsieurs?"
He said this with a thick French accent.

As they planned Chris talked. "Uh yes please. We are here looking for a job but it is vital we see someone in a high position immediately"

The man started to write in his book (which was actually just a screen). "It always is" he chuckled to hinself quietly. "Please take a seat"

They waited an agonising five minutes. Chris was so edgy that he practically jumped out of his seat when their names were called.

They walked into an office that had WW2 posters everywhere. The office had been large enough to fit a bedroom in it with ten king-sized beds side to side each way. The large, oak desk took up quite a bit of space.

Behind it there was a woman (these people weren't big on stereotypes). The woman spoke with a clear, English accent. "Salutations. I am Mrs. Oglecrum. I am one of the chief organisers for CERN. I believe you had to talk to me urgently" she said this with a slight hint of resent.

They told her the whole story. She just sat there patently sipping tea (okay maybe just some stereotyoes) waiting for them to finish.

When they eventually did she spoke. "Adrian dear, did you get that?"

To their surprise a Russian man with black hair and blue eyes. Walked in. He was relatively tall. "I did."

Seeing the trio's open mouths Mrs. Oglecrum explained that her husband had been working on a spy tech bug that could be placed on a person. It was like a sunspot on her face.

They all applauded which Adrian took greatfully.

He then spoke with with a booming Russian accent "So this defense thingie... what will it have?"

Jean explained that Marcus wouldn't be able to mass produce the rovers just yet so they only had to take out the one. Nick had installed software that could track the rover's camera if they could build the monitor. An EMP could disable the rover's motors and he just needed a knife looking drone to pierce the rover's bullet guidance system.

Adrian was extremely surprised and praised their work " And all of your gadgets work?"

Triumphantly the three nodded.

"Mrs. Oglecrum...."Chris started saying

"Please call me Aliyah." she quickly interjected.

" Aliyah sorry. We have a very time sensitive situation here. Marcus Pieterse is armed and mad. We need to stop him"

The look of Horror on the two CERN heads was a surprise. After a few seconds Mrs. Oglecrum stood up and with an authoritive voice said "You start tomorrow. Find a dorm. We'll supply you with equipment and anything you need."

About to question her Chris was interrupted by Adrian. "Marcus used to work for us. He used us to create his weapons that made him rich. He then almost blew the whole place up. We know what he is capable of. If what you say is true.... we could be facing a potential World War Three."

Jean was confused. Well they all were
"How?"

"Assassinations. Threats. Well targeted strikes. Spy work. The possibilities are endless. Let's get that defense system sorted As soon as possible please. "

A determined look had replaced his piercing eyes. They were in for a tough next few days. Hopefully they were quick enough....
