Even if I knew

  'Good morning Miss!'

  'What?'

The nurse just smiled at me. I looked around. I was in a class A ward. It was covered in white except for the painting in front of me. There was a TV on the ceiling. Flowers and cards were piled on the table pushed to the side window. The sunlight was streaming in, prickling my skin. Yet I longed for it for I had not seen it in so long.

  'What's your name?'

'What? My name? Why are you asking this?'

  'Your name.'

  'What? I'm Skye. Why?'

She simply nodded and continued writing her notes. I just stared at her.

'Where did you live before coming to this city?'

'The countryside somewhere in another corner of the country?'

  'What countryside?'

  'Hubei.'

'That's correct, but it's in China, not this country.'

The world is my country. This country is my city. This city is my home. And it's people are my people. And it's economy, my future. And it's education system is my only hope.

She jotted down some notes. I saw the word 'delusional' appear quite a few times. Maybe I really was slightly insane, delusional. But you couldn't reallly call it delusional since I wasn't too far away from reality.

She showed me some pictures. The pictures came again. Again. Again. More. More. Then she stopped

I recognized some of them back then.

But now, I recognize more. I now knew who that girl was. That girl who posed in every picture with my parents. Brown hair and eyes. Hair that glows brilliantly under the sun, eyes that seemed to radiate gold, skin soft and pure like snow. But is she still there?

There was this photo of a young boy posing with her. It had always been in my wallet. I must've lost it after the accident. That shade of black that I could never forget. His hair was darker than black. His eyes were like coal, waiting to be ignited once more.

I must leave now, people are waiting for me.

Sunrise.

If I remember correctly, the sky of that rose above the Ancient ruins was a shade of baby pink and orange combined. Apparently the molecules in the atmosphere scatter light at sunrise, creating its red colour here in the city.

Actually I don't really understand that theory, I should ask Daniel.

The trees are lined perfectly parallel to the pavement. The school gates were precisely perpendicular to the roads. The buildings were identical like lines on foolscap paper. People were randomly studying at different hours in every corner of the school.

Every particle was moving at rapid speeds, as though in a gaseous state after the initial boiling. I wonder how much faster each particle could go. It depends on its relative molecular mass I suppose. I should ask Daniel if that's correct.

In the center of the school, Jenni stood out like a designer dress amongst the piles of ordinary clothes, but she was still a piece of clothing, though wealthier, prettier and more popular.

Many of those random kids in the crowd seemed to idolize her. She was the captain who led the track team to victory after all. She probably had the best figure. Not to mention that her studies were above average, though not the top. To be honest she's only popular due to her appearance and her status as a school team captain. Not that I had any time to feed my desires since I was already so busy with my studies.
