Again, I found myself in the darkness accompanied only by Kain’s presence.
“I have a favor to ask of you, once you are well again.” Kain spoke, his honey-smooth voice perfectly matching his soft foresty eyes.
“What is it?” I asked, glad to not be in pain in this dreamworld.
“It will be difficult, but I must ask you to return to the Third Realm and face the Realm’s Trials. At the end, there’s a stone. It’s where I got the Sword from. I just want you to return it so that the Third Realm can protect its relic again.”
“I can do that. I’ll set out with Arrakis, Rayne, and Drake as soon as I’m well.”
“No,” Kain glowered, “you must go alone. The Trials will reject you if you go in with more than just yourself. You must not let anyone know where you go, lest they try to follow.”
I nodded. “I understand.”
“Good. Now, I will accelerate your healing process. You should be well within three days,” he told me, “you must return now. The best of luck to you>”
He faded without another word.
