(Forth's POV)
I am going to battle with Ming in an hour.
He has been texting me since days ago but I wasn't in the mood to accept anyone's challenge. Knowing that Beam has given me the chance to court him, I am a little bit relieved and able to give some attention to stuff related to this year's tournament.
Well, most of my attention will go to B after this. That's why I should finish this quickly and see if someone can beat me. I don't plan to recommend anyone. They have to challenge and win against me if they want to represent our university in the tournament.
I have also accepted some challenges from some students but they couldn't beat me. There were 40 challengers earlier and none of them could win against me.
They were strong, but not strong enough.
While waiting for Ming, I take a break to recover my mana. He is not the only one I am waiting for, though. I texted Beam this morning about this and I asked him to watch me fight. I am waiting for Beam more than the others.
But, he is still not here. I wonder if he will come.
After around an hour, Ming finally shows up with Kit. I don't know why Kit is here, but seeing him makes me hope that he has dragged Beam with him. Sigh.
"Hello, P'Forth." Ming bows to me a little.
"Hello, Ming. Go over to that side of the stadium and wait for me. Oh, right. Do you want me to use wands or go all out?"
Ming smiles at me. "No need to hold back, P'Forth. I will also go all out. No wands needed." He has a good confidence.
I turn my attention to Kit who is looking at Ming in awe. When Ming turns to see him, he pretends to look somewhere else.
Are these two dating or something?
The way he looks at Kit is giving me goosebumps. Kit is currently playing with the cat in his arms so he doesn't know that Ming is staring at him. If he sees how Ming looks at him, I believe he'll get goosebumps too.
I clear my throat to wake Ming up. "Are we going to compete in magic or in patience? Go over there and get ready, Ming."
"Hahaha, sorry." He then flies to the other side of the stadium.
It's time to see who is stronger between Ming and me. I guess I'll go easy on him a little bit.
Ming points his finger at me then declares, "Forth Jatthapon, I challenge you."
Sigh, how dramatic. He doesn't need to do that pose. Ming has one hand on his hip while the other hand is used to point his finger at me. Such a kid.
"I accept your challenge." I say to him as I close my eyes and enchant water magic spells. A blue magic circle appears below me. "Ovia Satarasuka Nero (I command the power of water)."
The magic circle shines brighter as sparkling ice shards start surrounding my hands. The grass around me are frozen because of my elemental magic.
I see Ming enchant his spell then a yellow magic circle shines below him. So, he is going to use close-combat to fight me. He is covering his hands with gloves of earth. Let's see if he can get close enough to hit me with those.
He runs towards me. I see the ground crack as he moves. It shows how strong his magic is.
But the ground doesn't affect me though. I am hovering inside a sphere of water. Even if he gets close enough to hit me, he won't be able to touch me.
I let him attack me first. He tries to land a punch on my barrier but he doesn't succeed. The water that is protecting me turns into solid ice when he tries to attack me.
