A/N: And this one.
We end up going to a place where Scott had been recently with a guy he was seeing. It’s more of a bar than a club but there are people dancing and it’s pretty crowded. ‘I’ll get the drinks, you guys go find a table.’ ‘Are you sure Kirst? I’ll come help you carry them.’ Kevin, Mitch and I look around to try and find a table. We eventually find one big enough and sit down. ‘So Bassman, how was your date.’ ‘Avi had a date?’ Mitch asks, smirking at me. ‘Uh, yeah.’ I reply awkwardly. ‘So how did it go?’ Mitch is enjoying this way too much. ‘Well he didn’t make it back to our apartment so it can’t have been too bad.’ ‘Oooooh Avi.’ I’m hoping that they’ll move on to something else before Scott and Kirstie get back.
‘Hey what are you guys talking about?’ No such luck apparently. ‘Our boy Avi had sex last night.’ ‘Wow, so you and Kirstie had sex then.’ Kirstie looks up suddenly from where she’s been looking at her phone ‘What?’ Scott laughs ‘no I mean, you’ve been hooking up with this guy and now Avi’s found a girl.’ ‘Here’s to members of the group getting laid.’ Kevin jokes as he raises his glass. Mitch rolls his eyes ‘Ugh quit reminding me how forever alone I am.’ Everyone laughs and it’s a relief to move away from the topic of mine and Kirstie’s sex lives (or sex life I guess). It’s not exactly the most comfortable conversation when everyone has a different idea of what’s going on between us.
‘Come on guys, let’s mingle.’ Everyone gets up from the table and heads for the dancefloor. We’re all just messing around and dancing together when Get Me Bodied by Beyoncé comes on. The trio, quite predictably, scream and move towards the centre of the floor. I catch Kevin’s eye and point to the bar. By the time we’re settled there with new drinks Kirstie, Scott and Mitch are getting a fair amount of attention. Famous, enthusiastic and attractive so it isn’t really all that surprising. ‘So, what’s this girl like then?’ I decide the best option is to just say generic things ‘She’s really pretty.’ My eyes are drawn to where Kirstie is laughing at Scott’s ridiculous dance moves and I figure there’s no harm in telling the truth, or at least part of it.
‘Well more like beautiful really. When she smiles I swear it’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. She’s really smart and really funny and always knows exactly what to say. She’s sweet and kind and talented and I feel like she has no idea how great she is which is totally stupid because she can always see the good in people.’ When I finish Kevin is looking at me with wide eyes. ‘Wow man, you sound pretty serious about this girl.’ I nod ‘Well I’ve known her a long time even if I’ve only just realised how I feel.’ ‘Did you like her when you first knew her?’ ‘A bit but not like I do now.’ He smiles at me ‘Well she sounds great, I’m happy for you.’ ‘Thanks, it means a lot.’
Scott and Mitch walk back to the bar chatting and laughing. ‘Where’s Kirstie?’ I ask, doing my best to keep it sounding casual. ‘She’s currently flirting with a very cute guy.’ I look over to where she’s standing on her tiptoes to say something to him. ‘What about this guy she’s seeing?’ Kevin asks. ‘Apparently it’s not really serious with him.’ Scott replies, watching Kirstie flirt with a grin on his face. ‘Ah well Avi’s definitely feeling serious about this girl that he’s seeing.’ Mitch, who hasn’t been paying that much attention looks up and glances at Kirstie before looking at me. His eyes are abnormally serious and he looks sadly at me. I shrug at him ‘Yeah I like her a lot, I don’t know whether it’s going anywhere though.’ I’m talking to all of them but I know that Mitch is the only one who really understands.
I’m on my own at the bar when a girl walks up to me. ‘Hey, you’re Avi from Pentatonix right?’ She’s pretty hot. A couple of inches shorter than me, brown hair, blue eyes. ‘Yep, that’s me.’ She blushes ‘I’m a bit of a fan.’ I grin at her. We flirt for a couple of minutes and it’s obvious what she wants. I feel like I may as well go along with it. Obviously Kirstie doesn’t feel the same way about me and Mia is hot and seems nice. I’m about to suggest that we take this back to my place or possibly a hotel when out of the corner of my eye I see Kirstie. She’s on her own and she doesn’t look particularly happy. ‘Hey Mia. I’m sorry but I have to go, it was good meeting you.’ She nods and tilts her head to the side ‘Oh ok. Nice meeting you too.’
