It was just another one of those things.. Being invited on Shawn Mendes' tour. It wasn't I guess obscure to me, or absolutely shocking. My dad owns the business, that owns the agency responsible for artist's tours. He trains people to do their jobs and overall is a business man who is amazing at management. He's personally been on tours with major celebrities like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and back before I was born he was part of major tours with Elton John, Garth Brooks and many others.

Needless to say, he is desensitized to celebrities. And also a hard working man.

My dad is training someone on Shawn's tour, and will be extremely busy. He needs more people to do what he does. I cannot even fathom all he does, and all the people he has working for him or with him. He works A TON but I still see him. My mom died in an accident when I was a few years old. She worked in construction and I was never told the entire story but all I remember is years of my dad stressed over court dates and such as he was trying to sue the construction company for my mothers death. He gave up due to the stress one year and I feel like he never forgave himself. I don't blame him. It may have been justice for my mom but it wouldn't bring her back.

Other than my dads constant connection with celebrities, his multimillion dollar business and him working pretty much all the time, my childhood was normal. I went to public school, I had normal friends, normal family holidays and lived life as a normal kid.

I mean, I did meet Justin Bieber and the Jonas brothers when I was OBSESSED with them just cause my dad could easily work those things into action. We lived in an expensive suburban home. We had people that worked for us and the house. My dad treated them generously and paired them well. He has had the same driver since I was a kid, the same house maid, cook and the same nanny. I remember my nanny and her last day of work. I loved her to death. Of course, now that I am newly 19 I haven't needed a nanny since I was 13. She would come and stay and care for me whenever my dad was gone on a tour or trip of sorts. Even when I was 17. Then my dad mainly stayed home for work until this opportunity came up.

I haven't moved out because.. well why should I? I am working for my dad and saving my money. I'm enrolled in online school to get a degree in some kind of business. I'm not dead set on it since I am not passionate about the industry like my dad. I haven't exactly found my path just yet.

The conversation, that was more like discussion of a work assignment, between my dad and I about this tour went a little like this.

"You want me to stay..in a bus???"

"I have to do what???"

"For how long???"

"Thats too long."

"How do you even pack or prepare for that?"

"Wait for who???"

It was a whole lot of ??? and !!! and me freaking out. Since I have settled with the idea, and understand the gist of my job, I am able to prepare, mentally and physically for the next 10 months. I believe there are 2 breaks in the tour for a couple weeks to regroup but 10 months is a long ass time not to be home. I guess all this work will start setting up my life for me cause my savings are gonna soar! ($$$)

"Sadie, Randy(our cook) wants to know if you want anything before we head into town." My dad tells me stopping in the doorframe of my room.

I was deciding between plain omelet or breakfast burrito even before he had said anything.

"Uh..Uh.. uhhhh can you tell him breakfast burrito?" I finally decide. I was in the middle of getting ready for my day. We were headed down into the city for a meeting for tour.
