Chapter 3: Shh... Death and Threats

Author's Note: I am in love with this book! I mean I always look forward to write Mindless Killer. It's kind of my bias. But still, that don't mean that I don't love my other babies :) So don't worry, I will keep writing ;)

"Are you alright?" Kendall asked, breaking through Kate's thought. They were seated back at the place where they were first brought to before the interrogation.
"Yeah, I'm fine... Are you alright? Did they suspect you?" Kate asked, quickly switching topics. She hated that she had to lie to her brother. But she couldn't tell him what Boris had told the officers.

She needed to ask him herself.

"Nope. Don't worry. I don't think the officers are suspecting any of us. They just wanted to know some information, whether she was acting strange lately or not and all that." Kendall said, ruffling Kate's thick black hair. He does that to calm her down all the time but this time, she couldn't find any comfort or calmness in it.

The officers walked out from the room and stared at all of them. His eyes red and tired. "Okay, you guys can go now. But if you see any suspicious character or know anyone that might harm her, please let us know."

Before he could leave, Finn asked "How did she die?"

All of us held our breaths, waiting for an answer. The police officer looked weary. "Please. We need to know. She was our friend." Marine sniffled, dabbing her nose with a piece of tissue. It was as if she was on a soap opera. All her move seemed so deliberate and planned.

It took him a while to say but he did anyway. In full complete details.

"It was horrible. Your friend's death. I wasn't supposed to tell you this but I guess you all have the right to know. All of you need to be careful. We believe that there is a mindless killer on the loose..." The officer said.
"Her body was nude and she was strapped onto her bed. The killer craved a word on her abdomen before slitting her wrist and throat. She was bled to death. It was a slow and painful torture if you'd ask me. She was able to feel everything."

Kate started to shake... It can't be possible...

"Sir... Wh..What is the wor..rd..d that was on her bod..dy?" Kate asked, her lips quivered, her whole body trembling.
The officer stared at her curiously before replying "Slut." The whole world went black then.

Daniel was staring at Kate, his worried gaze piercing into her guilty eyes. How could that happen?

"Kathy, look, it wasn't your fault. You know that right? It was probably just a coincident..." He said but Kate could clearly hear the weariness in his voice. Kendall and Boris were both pacing around back and forth in different direction.

"Thank Daniel, but you know it's not... And please you two, stop pacing around. It's giving me a headache." Kate said, rubbing on her temples. She push her bangs to her side and sighed deeply. Both of them stopped pacing finally and sat far away from one another on the couch.

Rachel sat next to Kendall and Marine was leaning in on Boris' arm. Finn had a grim face, sitting alone at a corner. His arm crossed over his chest. All of them had come to her house straight after the police released them. They needed to discuss and talk. Even if they don't want to.

Because one thing is clear, there might be a betrayer in the group targeting at her.

Everyone was silence. It was 2 in the morning and they were lucky that they didn't have school. Even if they did, they wouldn't have attended it. Nothing is more important than this...

"I remembered saying that I want to kill Ariel that way when I saw her shagging Finn but I swear I didn't kill her!" Kate burst out, the silence was too intense. The room was filled with suspicious eye contact.
