Chapter 5: Shh... (Just a short chappie)

Two years ago:

"Kendall."

"It was Kendall."

"Kendall did it."

"I've tried to stop him... I really did... But Kendall won't listen to me."

Betrayers! Betrayer, betrayer betrayer! They are fucking two face backstabbers! Liars! Hypocrites!

I hate them. They should all die. DIE.

17th July 2010 0922hours

"Finally! I thought you died in your sleep you know?" Kendall said, right into Kate's ears. "What the hell Kendall?" Kate shouted, kicking Kendall out of her bed. Kate was wearing her usual tank top and boy shorts.
"Hey, you were the one that suggested this remember?" Kendall emphasizes, pointing between them. "You wanted us to sleep together just in case you sleepwalked again, which you did by the way. Don't worry, I stopped him."

Groaning, Kate rubbed her eyes and stood up. "By the way Rachel said she want to talk with you. I think she said 10. So you'd better hurry" Kendall smirked, messing up her hair. "Argh. Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" Kate yelled, pushing her half-naked chuckling brother away.

1030hours

"What do you mean by that?" Kate asked, frowning at Rachel. "It's true. Please, please trust me on this. We can test out the theory, no harm trying right?" Rachel begged, her eyes darting around in fear and hope. She had her straight platinum hair dyed black, curled and volume it as well. It looked a little crazy. "Fine... I agree... Anything else other than that?"

She shook her head, heaving a sigh of relief. Kate shook her head. What is she thinking?

"Hey Kate, your phone's ringing." Rachel mumbled, staring at the screen of her phone. "It's Danny boy. The lover boy." Kate rolled her eyes at what Rachel commented but was shuddering inwardly at what Daniel had told them yesterday.

Should she answer the call? Daniel had been calling for quite some time now... And by quite some time... Kate meant 35 calls from yesterday till now. With a few second more hesitation, she pressed answer
"Daniel." she greeted, somewhat cold and formal.

There was a pause before Daniel replied, his voice rough like he was lacking of sleep and maybe crying for a while.
"I'm sorry Kate, I didn't mean to chase you guys out. Forgive me?" Kate sighed
"I'm not mad at you Dan, just that... The way you say that... That... It's creepy. Scary even."

Another pause.

"But it's true. I'm not taking that back." Now it was Kate's turn to pause and ponder... "I don't know Dan... I know you love me but really you shouldn't have said..."

"Hey Kathy, let's just forget about all that... Meet me later at the usual? Around 11:30 maybe?" He cuts her off swiftly, Kate nodded, even though she knew he wouldn't see "Sure. Bye." "Bye Kathy. I love you." And the line went dead.

"I'm leaving Rachel. Dan wanna meet me, I'll see you later?"
"Yeah... Remember what I told you okay?" she said looking into her eyes.
"I really need to know." Kate gulped "Fine. I promise."

1113hours

The usual. It's at The Kat Cafe. A cat themed cafe. A place where they can grabbed a cup of hot macchiato, chit-chat and have heart-to-heart talk, looking at the beautiful cat designed place. A calm and serene area.
A place where they met two years ago when she was still dating Finn.
"The first time I met you here, I was already mesmerized by you. Corny I know... But it's the truth." Daniel said, taking a seat next to her.

The waitress Rainie came and smiled "Ah, you two love birds. The usual? Caramel macchiato and Latte?" "Yes, that's right. Thank you." Daniel said, Rainie winked at Kate and mouthed "Keep him close"

Kate rolled her eyes, knowing she don't have to. She already have him in her arms and he would never do anything to hurt her like what Finn did.

"You know you looked really cute when you are thinking like that?" Daniel said, smiling, dimples showing.

"What?" Kate rises her brows in confusion.

Daniel grinned and lifted his hands to touch her forehead gently, soothing over the furrowed lines. "The way your brows rises when you are thinking hard and the way your lips quirked when you have an idea or something good came to your mind..."

His hands left her forehead to her cheeks, caressing her lovingly before leaning over to give her a small kiss. "The way you frown when something you don't understand, the way your eyes sparkles when you see your brother. Everything, everything about you, is absolutely beautiful."

Kate felt love. She feels it. She breathes it. It surrounds her, so much so much... That it was... hard to describe.

But she just... Doesn't feel as much...

Not as much as Daniel feel for her...

"There, see, you are frowning again and your brows are moving in to form a line." Daniel murmured, staring at her sadly.

"Dan... I..." Kate started, but was abruptly intercepted by a loud voice.

"Kate! Daniel!" Rachel barged into the cafe, her face pale and shocked, her hair were in a mess, her eyes glistening with fear.

"Something happened! Something happened to Finn!" Rachel cried, biting her lower lips.

"What?"
