Chapter 10: Shh... Suicidal Death

18th July 2010 1600hours

"How could you say something like that without even having any... Any... Any emotions at all? How could you be so heartless? Marine was our friend! Do you even remember that?!" Kate yelled, the tears welled up in her eyes spilled out like a tap being turned on.

The guys were all quiet. Watching intently, as if waiting for the right moment to jump in. Or just could not deal with the drama... Like a coward they always are... Besides her brother of course... Kendall is never the coward... Never...

Rachel shrugged like she could not care less.

She sat down ever-so-casually on the couch like nothing happened at all. Like she never said anything disrespectful to their deceased friend. As if she didn't say anything wrong. Kate stared at her in utter disgust, all her sadness and anger had turned into it. Now she finally understood, among all her friends, Rachel was the worse. She was the monster of them all...

When Finn and Daniel warned Kate about her, she should have listened... If she did, it wouldn't have hurt this badly now...

"You should probably leave Rachel." Kendall announced, walking towards Rachel. When Rachel refuses to move, he pulled on her hand forcefully dragging her up from the couch. "Let me go! I've got something to say! Let me go! LET ME GO!" she screamed, struggling from Kendall's steel-like grip on her arm.

Kendall did not bothered. He gripped her harder by the arm and shoved her out of the door. She was still screaming at the top of her lungs like a madwomen. Daniel went forward and hugged Kate tight the moment Kendall brought Rachel out. Boris was still in trance, staring at the empty space, building a sandcastle in the air.

18th July 2010 2100hours

Daniel went out to buy dinner for Kate and Kendall.

Boris left not long after Daniel walked out of the door. The past few hours have been a torture for all of them...

Kate was crying in Daniel's chest like the world ended. Boris was acting strange, looking at the empty space and muttering incoherently. Kendall was the only one deep in thoughts. He heard his dear sister's muffled cries but he didn't understand...

He didn't understand why her sister were so upset. She never liked Marine, not at all. So why in the world would she cry like that when she die? He couldn't understand why...

But then again, he couldn't understand why Boris was acting that way either. He knew that Boris never really loved Marine. It was so obvious, he had flings everywhere and they were never official and exclusive. Everyone knew that. Even so, he understand that perhaps he would have concern for Marine. However that kind of character he was displaying just now didn't quite make any sense...

Knowing Boris so well... He must have done something... Or must be guilty of something for that one hundred and eighty degree change in him...

Question is, what is it?

18th July 2010 2200hours

Its been one hour since Daniel left... Kate don't know why she is feeling so queasy. There was something in Kate's gut that told her something was off.... The nearest food stall was just ten minutes away and the nearest supermarket was just fifteen minutes away. What was taking him so long?

"Give him a call." Kendall said when he saw Kate biting her nails nervously. It was a bad habit of hers when she is scared or worried or when she is suffering from anxiety. Just as Kate was about to reach for the phone, Daniel opened the front door of their house and walked in slowly in one piece. Kate sighed in relieve and went over to hug him.

"What took you so long?" Kate whispered in his ears.

"Traffic." he replied rather quietly. He kissed Kate's forehead softly and went into the kitchen to prepare the food.

After everything was done, he left without eating his dinner...

Nor did he say any goodbye..

19th July 2010 1100 hours

Run away. Run away! Run away before it's too late Kitty!

Kate jerked awake. She was perspiring, sweat beaded on her forehead. "What happened?!" Kendall shouted, running into Kate's room half naked.

She stared at her brother and smiled, whenever she make any slight sound or any big movement loud enough for Kendall to hear, he would rush over without any hesistation. He is so protective of her that Kate felt so warm and fuzzy inside... That sometimes... She can't help but feel that no one is able to compare to Kendall. Even Daniel...

"I'm fine big brother. Just a nightmare..." Kate smiled, even wider when her brother cocked his eyebrow up unsure whether to believe her or not. "You know if there is anything just let me know 'kay? I mean I've been completely out of your life for a year and I don't know what happened during this one short year... Did anything happen? Did anyone hurt you? I didn't even know that and I can't even spend any time together with you after I am out... " Kendall raked his fingers through his messy black hair. "I mean... We used to spend time together, just the both of us and now... Everything become so complicated... You have Daniel and all.... We were...."

Kendall did not get to complete his conversation though...

Kate's phone rang.

And it was from the police.

19th July 2010 1245hours

"What? No... No... No.... NO NO NO NO NO! There is no way he'd do that!" Kate cried out.

"He wrote it down, with his signature and all. He admits it." The officer said as a matter of factly.

"Are you really sure?" Kendall asked the third time, he couldn't believe the officer's word too.

The officers looked at the siblings with a slanted gaze. "Why would we lie about that? When we were there, in his last breath, he admits to us. And he clenched his last words in his hands and told us to read it. It couldn't have been false."

Kate staggered while Kendall held on to her tightly.

Why in the world would he admit it?

Why in the world did he say he was the one that killed the janitor? And that he was the one that conspired with everyone and framed Kendall? And that he was the one who killed Ariel and Finn...

Why? Its not true! Its not true!

"Your boyfriend is one psychotic killer... He lured one of your friend... Rachel into his house and killed her too. Stabbed her straight into her heart before he killed himself...." one of the officer said. "Kids these days are seriously fucked up in the brains... How could they.... ....."

The rest was unheard by Kate as the world went pitch black.
