"Liv! Wake up! Wake up wake up wake up!" Sammy and Liza chanted, jumping up and down on my bed. After a few moments of being tossed around, I flopped off my bed, feet tangled in the sheets, and groaned a response.

"What is it?"

"IT'S DECEMBER TWENTIETH"

"Okay?"

"IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK!"

I sighed, standing up and fixing my blanket before walking to the bathroom, completely ignoring the girls' squeals of delight. It's not that I wasn't excited for Christmas, or the break, but I was also kind of sad to be away from my friends and Hogwarts. It's only for a couple of weeks, but I'm a clingy person. I brushed my teeth and hair and walked back into the room to pack up my trunk. Quickly shoving everything of mine into the trunk, I then stood and followed the girls out of the room again.

The five of us took our seats in the Great Hall for one last meal before boarding the train. The house elves put together a small Christmas breakfast, Cinnamon buns and French toast and Golden pears, Eggnog, Pumpkin Juice (it's year-round, so of course), and Chocolate tarts. We happily piled food onto our plates and dug in, chatting about out holidays to come.

"Let's join that carriage with Harry!" Melia chirped, dragging us all along. Once we'd taken a seat, I turned to Hermione.

"I was thinking..maybe I could do more research on Nicholas Flamel at home. I don't have as big a library as Hogwarts, but I've got better access to..certain..books." I whispered

"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. Write me if you find anything, Olivia. And Happy Christmas"

The carriage arrived at the station and we all stepped out. The doors opened and students began filing in, finding empty compartments to get comfy for the ride home. Luna, Liza, Sammy and Melia sat down in a compartment and I left to find Draco with the promise to return later. I passed compartment after compartment, searching for the familiar blonde. I finally spotted him and slid open the compartment door.

"Hey..can I sit?"

"Yeah, go ahead"

"So..I know things are kind of...um...awkward, but since we're going to spend Christmas together, can we just forget what happened? Like, with Jacob."

"Oh..um yeah, sure" I nodded my head and got up to leave, reaching for the handle when Draco got in one last comment.

"I still don't like the guy, though."

I hugged my friends good bye and walked up to my parents, wrapping my arms around my little sister.

"Liv!" she squealed, turning and throwing her own arms around me. I chuckled and pulled away to greet my parents, too. Then, with a quick 'hello' to the Malfoys, we apparated home.

A loud crack resonated through the empty house and I made a dash to my room. Quickly chucking my trunk back in it's corner beside my desk, I sat down at my desk. It felt so good to be home.

I picked up the first thing I saw and let my fingertips roam the familiar object. The gold chain, the smooth edges of the bright rhinestone. I refused to bring it to school for fear of losing it there. It was given to me at birth, although Mum never specified who gave it to me, and I hardly ever took it off as a child.

I didn't bother unpacking, it's not like I'll be home much longer anyways. We always spend Christmas at the Malfoy's. They hold a Christmas Eve Ball every year and my family just stays there for the weekend.
