We search for an empty compartment, but there are none so we go to the closest one. "Excuse us, may we sit here?" I ask, just as a pasty-looking girl looks up at me.
"And who might you be?" the girl speaks first with a disgusted look crossing her face.
"Draco Malfoy. This is Olivia Rosier. And you are?" Draco answers for me, clearly not affected by this girl's nasty attitude.
"Pansy Parkinson. These two idiots are Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle." She rolls her eyes as they finally look up, taking notice of the two strangers standing in the doorway.
Finally composing myself, I stand up taller, square my shoulders and look Pansy directly in the eye "Now may we sit here?" I ask, again. She scowls but scoots over to make room. I can tell Draco doesn't like her either because he made Crabbe and Goyle sit next to her so we could sit next to each other on the opposite side. The ride there is pretty boring, Draco and I don't talk much no matter how hard Pansy is trying to gain his attention. Merlin, I hope she and I aren't sorted into the same house.

I hadn't realized I dozed off until I am rudely awakened by the screeching of brakes as we pull into Hogsmeade Station.
"Firs' years! Firs' years o'er here!" I see a giant man yelling and waving.
"Hagrid!" I hear a little boy yell.
So that must be the man's name. Hagrid.
"Draco, let's go get a boat!" I squeal excitedly. He chuckles and follows me to a small, wooden rowboat.
"Oh, hi again!" I hear an annoying voice screech that a was really hoping I wouldn't have to hear again at least until tomorrow.
"What is it, Pansy?" I sigh exasperatedly.
"Oh, I was just wondering if I could join your boat?" She giggles and sits across from Draco, scooting as far forward as possible without falling off the bench. Crabbe and Goyle follow and, just like that, the boats begin rowing themselves, gliding over the shiny black colour of the lake. I notice all the lights and turrets in the reflection in the lake first, and then look up to see the most magnificent castle I have ever seen. Actually, the only castle I have ever seen, but it was so beautiful. My eyes scan across the whole building, taking in the many windows and towers and levels, my gaze lingering on the tallest tower with a railing overlooking the Black Lake and landscape beyond.
_
We are lead into the castle by Hagrid and then handed over to a stern looking teacher named Professor McGonagall.
"So it's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter's come to Hogwarts." Draco steps away from my side to turn to a boy with jet-black hair and round, rim-wire glasses. He just stares at Draco blankly.
"This is Crabbe, Goyle, Rosier, and I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." He smirks and I hear a snicker coming from the boy with bright orange hair standing next to Harry. My head whips towards the sound and I almost grimace at the sight.
"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair, and a hand-me-down robe. You must be a Weasley." Draco sneers, his voice dripping with disgust. "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco returns his gaze to Harry, extending his hand.
"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks" He replies and the Professor returns, Draco taking his place by my side once again. Draco and I walk side-by-side as we enter the Great Hall.
